Most consumers who have used window cleaning robots have encountered the same problem: after one round of cleaning by the machine, there are still water marks and streaks on the glass, and the glass even gets stained with more cleaning. This technical bottleneck stemming from “just wipe but not scratch” has now been broken through by Taiwanese brand HOBOT with its new flagship model “HOBOT-SP10”. This product was first unveiled at the CES 2026 home appliance show in the United States earlier this year. It is claimed to be the world’s first window cleaning robot equipped with dual lift scrapers. It condenses the process of “first spraying water, then wiping, and finally scraping” by professional window washers into a fully automatic process. The recommended price is NT$13,800. It is officially introduced to the Taiwan market by Jiayi Enterprise, which has been deeply involved in Taiwan’s home appliance market for more than 50 years.
HOBOT-SP10 is inspired by professional window washers: SSS™ three-step cleaning technology
The core selling point of HOBOT-SP10 is the exclusive patented “SSS™ spray-squeegee glass cleaning technology”, which breaks down the cleaning process into three steps:
- Spray: The fuselage is equipped with ultra-wide-angle dual nozzles on both sides, which spray fine water mist through the water pump pressurization design. Officials emphasize that even in high places outdoors or in windy environments, the water mist is not easily blown away and can accurately cover dirty areas on the glass surface.
- Sweep: Three-layer stiff microfiber cloth is used for pressure wiping to remove dust and stains evenly along the cleaning path planned by the machine.
- Scrape: This is a key step to solve the problem of traditional window cleaning machines becoming more and more expensive as they are wiped. HOBOT-SP10 is equipped with a “dual-blade flow” automatic lifting scraper, which is made of wear-resistant and high surface tension materials. It has excellent wear resistance and durability, and is not easy to deform or wear after long-term use. When the machine moves laterally, the front scraper automatically lifts up, and the rear scraper scrapes away residual water against the glass to ensure there are no water marks on the surface.
The design inspiration comes directly from the workflow of professional window washers: first wet the glass with water, then wipe the dirt with a cloth, and finally scrape the water away with a scraper. HOBOT automates this process, so that users no longer have to face the dilemma of “having to finish with a scraper after the machine has finished wiping”.
Four cleaning modes, corresponding to different window conditions
In order to cope with different glass dirtiness and usage scenarios, HOBOT-SP10 provides four cleaning modes:
- ZH Standard mode: First wipe horizontally in a Z-shape, then wipe the left and right window frames in an H-shape to completely clean the entire window.
- Z fast mode: Only horizontal Z-shape wiping, suitable for daily quick cleaning.
- ZN fine mode: First wipe horizontally in Z-shape and then vertically in N-shape, suitable for dirty glass to enhance cleaning coverage.
- ZHA handle avoidance mode:ZH Standard mode plus window handle avoidance function to prevent the machine from getting stuck in the handle position.
In addition, users can also manually control the machine through the App to repeatedly wipe stubborn dirt at fixed points. HOBOT-SP10 has also designed two major cleaning processes: the “window washing process” is equipped with a wet cleaning cloth, wiping according to the selected pattern path to remove dust and dirt; the “polishing process” is equipped with a dry cleaning cloth to reduce the humidity of the water spray, and is wiped in a horizontal Z-shaped path to accurately wipe away residual water and restore the transparency of the glass.
6000Pa suction power with edge detection, upgraded safety for use in high-rise buildings
In terms of safety, HOBOT-SP10 is equipped with a high-efficiency brushless motor, which can generate a strong suction force of 6000Pa and automatically adjust the adhesion force according to the slight difference in the glass surface. The high-grip track wheel design that imitates tire patterns allows the machine to walk stably even on wet or sloping glass without slipping easily.
For the frameless or extremely narrow windows common in modern buildings, HOBOT-SP10 is equipped with the exclusive “Edge-Leakage™ Sensors edge and air leakage detection patented technology”. This sensing system can sensitively detect the edge of frameless glass. When the gap between the glass is less than 5mm or encounters a thin frame less than 2mm, it can still accurately detect and automatically fold back to avoid the risk of falling due to air leakage.
In addition, the fuselage has a built-in UPS backup power system, which can maintain strong suction power for up to 20 minutes even if there is a sudden power outage. It is equipped with a safety rope that can withstand high tension to provide double anti-fall protection.
Italian A’ Design Award Bronze Award
HOBOT-SP10 has won the 2025-2026 Italian A’ Design Award Bronze Award in the Home Appliance Design Category. The A’ Design Award is known as the “Oscar of the design industry” and is one of the largest design competitions in the world. The award-winning products represent products that have reached internationally recognized standards in terms of design aesthetics and practicality.
In terms of control, HOBOT-SP10 not only comes with a remote control, but also supports Bluetooth connection control via mobile app. The app has an active reminder function, which will send out reminders if the windows have not been cleaned for more than three months. It is also equipped with OTA online updates to continuously upgrade the firmware to obtain the latest cleaning modes and technology optimizations.
