After a long wait, Grand Theft Auto VI—which players have waited 13 years for—has finally entered the final countdown to release. Based on the information and visuals released so far, the game is very likely to give players the largest amount of gameplay content Rockstar Games has ever delivered. Even so, the development team seems to want players to slow down and savor the story they have crafted for the game.

As November 19 rapidly approaches, many Grand Theft Auto fans are starting to prepare to return to Vice City once again, hoping to carefully explore all of Leonida and witness firsthand the results of nearly 10 years of development by Rockstar Games. At the same time, however, there are also quite a few “hardcore players” in the community who want to complete the main story in the shortest possible time; in this regard, some of the game’s design choices seem to require them to be a little more patient.

Back in August this year, Rockstar Games officially confirmed that once the story of Grand Theft Auto 6 reaches a certain point, the game will begin requiring players to save up a certain amount of money before they can progress. But according to the latest details published in EDGE magazine, this story also includes some “turning points” where players must wait a little while before continuing, encouraging them to explore first, experience side content outside the main story, or take part in activities that can affect the relationship between Jason and Lucia.
In past entries in the series, players could progress through the main quests almost without interruption, advance the story significantly in a short amount of time, and even speedrun straight to the game’s ending. Notably, however, Rockstar Games had already introduced a similar concept in its previous release, Red Dead Redemption 2, requiring players to have the protagonist go to camp or a hotel to rest before they could continue progressing through the main quests, though it still did not force players to wait for very long.

As for the missions in Grand Theft Auto 6 that require the protagonists to save up enough funds before they can progress, players can quickly meet the requirement through illegal means such as robbing stores or passersby, but at the same time, players can still choose to save money through more legal methods such as hunting or participating in races.
On the other hand, Edge magazine also revealed in this wave of new information that in Grand Theft Auto 6, the vast majority of the map will open up right at the beginning of the game, giving players the chance to put the main story on hold and explore the state of Leonida, whether in cities, mountains, forests, swamps, or archipelago areas.

In a post yesterday, PlayStation officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available for preloading on November 10, while also confirming that players will need to set aside up to 212GB of storage for this massive release.
