We just reported on it yesterday. The extent of graphics card price increases to dateUnexpectedly, November has only just begun, and there are reports of another round of price increases, again from the Chinese graphics card market. According to foreign media reports, Colorful’s November factory prices have been revealed, with the RTX 50 series seeing another price hike across the board. The RTX 5080 has risen by up to RMB 2,800, while the China-exclusive RTX 5090 D V2 has risen by up to RMB 3,300, equivalent to about NT$14,000 and NT$16,000 respectively.
In addition, another report noted that because RTX 50 supply is tight, some Chinese graphics card vendors have even advised channel partners to switch to selling RTX 3060 and RTX 3050.

RTX 5080 prices in China rise by up to another 2,800 RMB! With RTX 50 stock shortages, manufacturers surprisingly suggest that retailers switch to selling RTX 3060.
According to VideoCardz According to reports, China’s Board Channels pointed out that Colorful has already implemented its new November factory pricing, with almost the entire NVIDIA RTX 50 series seeing price increases, and GALAX is also preparing to follow suit this week. The largest increases are for the RTX 5090 D V2 and RTX 5080. Depending on the model, the RTX 5090 D V2 has risen by 2,200 to 3,300 RMB, while the RTX 5080 has risen by at least 2,500 RMB, with some models rising to 2,800 RMB; its minimum increase is even higher than that of the 5090 D V2:

For the RTX 5080, a price increase of up to US$420 is already more than 40% of the US launch MSRP of US$999. As for Galax, reports indicate that RTX 5060 and higher models will rise by at least 200 yuan, with higher-end models potentially seeing larger increases, but the exact timing and amounts have not yet been confirmed.
Special attention should be paid here: these are the ex-factory prices and supply prices that manufacturers give to distributors, so they are not actual retail prices, and NVIDIA has not announced any adjustment to the official suggested retail price. VideoCardz also noted that it has not yet been confirmed whether the US and Europe will follow with price increases.
Beyond the price increase,VideoCardz Another report also noted that some graphics card manufacturers in China have exhausted their RTX 50 inventory, while others have only a small amount left, so they have begun recommending the RTX 3060 12GB, RTX 3060 8GB, RTX 3050, and unnamed AMD Radeon graphics cards to distribution channels as substitutes for the RTX 50. Even manufacturers that still have RTX 50 inventory are shipping it in small batches at higher prices:

It’s honestly kind of rough: the RTX 50 series is not only getting more expensive, but even if you have the money, you can’t get one—you can only buy the RTX 30 series from a few years back.
As for why there’s such a shortage? Many people might assume it must be AI, but it seems that’s not the case.
The report cites two reasons: one is rising demand for cryptocurrency mining (yes, mining is back), and the other is buying momentum driven by China’s e-commerce promotional season.
