As AI becomes deeply integrated into every aspect of people’s lives, almost everything—from clothing, food, housing, to transportation—depends on AI support.Google A solution has recently been officially announced that uses AI to help people address clothing-related problems, making the online shopping experience more immersive and intelligent while also seeking to redefine how people explore style inspiration, track ideal prices, and even turn design inspiration into immediate purchasing actions. This retail transformation driven by AI technology could influence how consumers buy and match clothes in the future.

Google officially launches virtual try-on “Try on styles” — could it trigger a shopping revolution?

First unveiled at the Google I/O developer conference this May,Virtual try-on tool(Try-On Tool), initially launched as a limited experimental feature in Search Labs. Today, Google officially announced that this feature is now fully available across the United States, integrated into Search, Google Shopping, and Google Images search results as part of its extensive Shopping Graph ecosystem.

Using the virtual try-on feature is extremely simple: when browsing any clothing item on Google’s platform, users just tap the “Try On” icon on the product page, upload a full-body photo, and the system uses AI models to analyze body shape, proportions, and garment silhouette, generating a realistic image of them wearing the item within seconds. Whether it’s picking out plaid pants for the first day of school or hunting for the perfect dress for a weekend party, shoppers can clearly preview how the item will look before actually making a purchase.

Furthermore, Google also supports browsing history review, favorite outfit collections, and sharing features, enabling users to compare different styles, discuss choices with friends and family, and improve the efficiency and confidence of shopping decisions.

Price alert upgrade: never miss a good price again

Price is one of the core factors influencing purchasing decisions. In this latest update, Google has also significantly enhanced its Price Alert feature, making it more aligned with real shopping behavior and budget considerations. Now, when users in the U.S. select “Track Price” to set up alerts, they can not only specify the product’s size and color, but also customize their ideal price. Through its vast Shopping Graph database, Google will monitor price fluctuations across the web in real time and send notifications to users as soon as conditions are met. Whether it’s a dream designer handbag or a highly practical campus backpack, users no longer need to manually check prices repeatedly or worry about missing out on a great deal.

From outfits to home decor, AI sparks your creativity in one click.

Beyond the shopping process itself, inspiration is also a key factor influencing shopping behavior. In this update, Google also announced that it will launch a new AI Mode in the fall to help users explore sources of inspiration for outfit styles and interior design. With this feature, users simply enter simple descriptive phrases, such as “a flowing green dress for a garden party” or “a fresh Nordic-style bedroom design,” and the AI model combines visual recognition and semantic understanding technologies to generate a series of style examples that match the description. Furthermore, the system will automatically find corresponding items from over 50 billion Shopping Graph products, turning inspiration into concrete shopping options instantly.

AI-Empowered Blueprint for the Future of Retail

Google’s latest upgrade to the shopping experience is not just a single feature update, but rather a reflection of its effort to build a complete ecosystem encompassing inspiration discovery, product filtering, price monitoring, and purchase decisions. Shopping Graph, the core technology database behind all of this, integrates over 50 billion product records globally, covering not only product specifications and images but also inventory and pricing information. This allows Google to deliver highly accurate product recommendations and price alerts backed by massive data, while combining AI’s semantic understanding and image analysis capabilities to make search results more contextually aware. At the same time, the three features—virtual try-on, inspiration generation, and price notifications—address the three core aspects of shopping: visual experience, creative exploration, and price sensitivity, forming a mutually reinforcing triangular structure. Google has not only provided an entry point for shopping searches but is also striving to become an indispensable digital assistant throughout the entire shopping journey. Do you think this tool will influence your decisions when choosing clothes in the future? Or would you rather visit physical stores to enjoy the experience of trying things on and having more options?
