Rockstar Games has officially announced the pre-launch arrangements for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), finally giving players around the world who have been waiting eagerly more concrete information. According to the official announcement, the game will be available for pre-download on November 10, with supported platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Players who pre-purchase the digital version can download the game data to their console in advance and enter the game world as soon as it officially launches.
GTA6 preloading opens on 11/10 and will take up 212GB of console storage.
Rockstar said the PlayStation 5 preload service will open at midnight on November 10 according to local time zones, while Xbox Series X|S will begin preloading globally at 00:00 GMT on November 10. Players who choose to buy the physical version also need not worry about being unable to prepare in advance; the official said retail channels will begin offering boxed redemption code versions starting November 12, making it convenient for players to complete the installation process early and be ready for the official release date on November 19.
In addition to the release schedule, the game’s file size has also become one of the focal points of player discussion. According to information released by Rockstar, the preload file size for GTA 6 is as high as 212GB, which is undoubtedly a challenge for many console players. Especially given that the file sizes of most AAA games today continue to rise, many players’ console storage space is already nearing its limit. Therefore, the official recommendation is for players to check their hard drive space in advance and, if necessary, delete games they play less often or move some content to external storage devices to ensure they have enough space to install GTA 6.
Rockstar also revealed that on the game’s launch day, it will release the official cover poster and full game map for players to download and collect. In addition to the free digital version, the official store will also offer a double-sided physical printed version for $0.99, allowing collecting fans to own a more commemorative physical item.

As one of the most anticipated titles in the video game industry in recent years, GTA 6 has continued to spark heated discussion among the market and players since its announcement. Many industry analysts believe that, thanks to the brand influence and massive player base the Grand Theft Auto series has built up over the years, the new title could break multiple game sales and revenue records after launch, and even become one of the most successful release cases in the modern entertainment industry.
Officially, only a console version has been confirmed so far, and no PC release date has been announced. However, it is widely expected that Rockstar will still release a PC version in the future, and some market reports even speculate that PC players may receive related news next year.
In terms of game content, Rockstar has clearly invested substantial development resources. According to information released so far, GTA 6 will build one of the largest open worlds in the series’ history, with not only a broader map but also the series’ signature high-freedom design. Players will be able to explore rich and diverse urban environments and experience various missions, criminal activities, and character interactions. The game will also retain the series’ trademark mature content, including criminal plots, violent scenes, drug-related elements, and other mature themes, so it is expected to maintain a mature-rated classification. As the release date approaches, whether GTA 6 can once again define the standards for open-world games has become a focal point of attention for players worldwide.
