When buying a phone, many people care about battery life, especially those who often play mobile games; they definitely dislike seeing a low-battery notification pop up halfway through a game. To this end, Xiaomi recently teased the upcoming REDMI new phone REDMI K100, which has a large 10,000mAh battery. Although there are still a few days until the official launch, Xiaomi has recently begun official announcements and invited game streamers to hold a relay livestream test, playing from full charge all the way until the phone automatically shut down; the final cumulative time was 8 hours 35 minutes.

REDMI K100: Streamers took turns gaming for 8 hours and 35 minutes before it powered off! The 10,000mAh large-battery gaming phone will be announced on October 27.
REDMI recently held a “Don’t turn off the device and don’t stop streaming.battery life challenge, gaming streamers SR.Momo, Lai Shen, Gus, and others teamed up for a relay, using the same REDMI K100 to play Valorant Mobile continuously starting from a full charge. As long as the phone didn’t shut down, the livestream wouldn’t end. Earlier, they also officially announced the final result and shared a highlight video: playing continuously in high-quality mode, the REDMI K100 lasted 8 hours and 35 minutes before automatically powering off:

The highlight video shares the results of real-world tests conducted at regular intervals. Those interested can watch it on Weibo:
Besides the official livestream, several review outlets in China have also successively published their own battery life test results:
- Phoenix Review: Using its own “test-to-death” battery endurance model, it achieved a total battery life of 15 hours 32 minutes, ranking second and only behind the Honor Magic9 Super Edition’s 16 hours 13 minutes.
- Xinping Technology: Total battery life of 8 hours 48 minutes, ranking second among 150 phones and making it the longest-lasting Xiaomi-series model currently.
- WHYLAB: The heavy-load model took 9 hours and 57 minutes to go from full charge to complete shutdown.
This shows that, since it can last this long even while gaming, ordinary users won’t see such extreme power consumption in actual use, so lasting more than a full day should be no problem.
The main reason the K100 can last so long is none other than its battery capacity. This is also the first time the REDMI K series has used a 10,000mAh battery, putting its capacity on par with Xiaomi’s current largest phone battery. For reference, most flagship phones today have batteries in the 5,000–6,000mAh range.
This battery uses Xiaomi’s “Jinshajiang Battery” technology and features a silicon-carbon anode design. Its silicon-carbon content is 28%, and its energy density reaches 957Wh/L. Xiaomi says it can deliver stable performance even at low temperatures of -20°C. Reports also indicate that the battery’s cycle life is 1,600 cycles.
It also supports 100W wired fast charging, plus 27W wired reverse charging, so when you’re out you can use it to charge your earbuds, watch, or even another phone:

Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing also announced Xiaomi Lab’s battery life data for everyday scenarios:
| Usage scenario | Official battery life data |
|---|---|
| Continuously watching Douyin short videos | Over 29 hours |
| Watch Douyin livestreams | Over 24 hours |
| Soda Music playing out loud | Over 47 hours |
| Amap continuous navigation | More than 18 hours |
| Reading a novel | Over 46 hours |
| Binge-watching short dramas nonstop | 1,000 episodes |
As for the rest of the hardware specs, the REDMI K100 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Although it is not the latest-generation flagship chip, it still delivers strong performance, and it also features REDMI’s own D2 dedicated gaming graphics chip, which supports image quality enhancement and frame interpolation.
Officials said that more than 40 games natively support 165fps mode, and more than 100 games support frame interpolation. The screen uses a 6.83-inch 165Hz high refresh rate panel with peak brightness of 3,500 nits, features a 480Hz multi-finger touch report rate and 3,500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, and supports Xiaomi Qingshan Eye Protection 4.0.

Other features include a metal frame, a new Firefly Green color option, Bose-tuned symmetrical dual speakers, a large vibration motor, and Xiaomi HyperOS 4 preloaded out of the box.
The REDMI K100 is confirmed to be officially launched in China on October 27 at 7 p.m. The official price has not yet been announced, but it is estimated to fall between RMB 3,500 and 4,500.
One more point to add: this time, Chinese media almost all referred to the K100 as “Xiaomi’s first 10,000mAh phone,” but this claim is not quite accurate.
Xiaomi Japan launched a REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G with a 10,000mAh battery on August 28, and it also supports 100W fast charging. However, this model is positioned as a mid-range phone.
