Earlier this week at BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment revealed to fans the latest updates on many of its IPs, but beyond Blizzard’s own titles, some third-party companies also shared their collaboration plans with Blizzard at the event, and that included CD Projekt Red.
According to the latest news CDPR revealed on the second day of the event, their sci-fi open-world RPG Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on Battle.net later this year, making it another title coming to this new platform, following The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, which they confirmed in late August this year, and the latest expansion Songs of the Past, expected to launch in 2027.
In the collaboration plan announced at the time, Blizzard and CDPR announced that players who purchased the upcoming The Witcher 3 expansion content on Battle.net would receive exclusive crossover skins for this game and Diablo IV, but it now appears that this is not the only crossover collaboration the two companies have launched recently.
Prior to this, Overwatch had also collaborated with Japanese anime such as My Hero Academia, Cowboy Bebop, and One-Punch Man, releasing a series of hero skins, so Cyberpunk: Edgerunners does not seem too out of place. And considering that this collaboration includes new characters who have yet to appear, players may have to wait until some time after Season 2 of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners premieres on October 20 before they have a chance to see more follow-up news.
