There are also two other things you need to know:
- The number of free chapters varies by title, and it also differs across languages for the same work. For example, One Piece currently has 108 chapters in the Traditional Chinese version, but the Czech version only has 8; Demon Slayer’s Traditional Chinese version has 43 chapters. On the same platform, the same manga can differ by a hundred chapters just by switching languages. The main reason is the difference in translation progress, which should gradually be filled in later.
- It can’t be viewed in Japan — connecting with a Japanese IP gets blocked. Only the translated version of One Piece is viewable, and you can’t see the original Japanese text.
In addition to existing completed and classic works, Shueisha announced that starting from mid-August, it will launch “near-simultaneous distribution” for approximately 30 works currently serialized in its magazines, with new chapters becoming available on the platform about 2 to 3 weeks after they are published in Japanese magazines.
