In recent years, there have been many ACG-derived challenges on YouTube, but most of them are relatively short, such as only a few months. To complete the same training menu as Saitama, the protagonist of “One Punch Man”, 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and running 10 kilometers every day for 3 consecutive years, the difficulty is really no joke, but recently a Japanese YouTuber really did it! In the past three years, he has run more than 10,000 kilometers and performed each of the three major movements more than 100,000 times. What is even more exaggerated is that he was hit by a car and a bicycle during training, but he did not give up.

One Punch Man Challenge 3 Years Successful! A 44-year-old Japanese YouTuber transformed from a middle-aged man with a belly to a muscular man, running 16,000 kilometers and doing push-ups 100,000 times
The person who completed this challenge was the Japanese YouTube channel tasuke challenge. He started the challenge on April 21, 2023. At that time, he was 41 years old and weighed 74.7 kilograms. It can be clearly seen in the original video that his figure is a very standard middle-aged man with a lower abdomen, with a protruding belly, not much muscle mass, and he gets out of breath after running two steps:

He also mentioned that he could not finish a single run in the first week and fell down many times during strength training:

On the day the channel was launched, he also nailed five goals to be achieved in three years on the wall:
- Saitama’s original menu will not be discontinued for 3 years
- Run a full marathon in under 4 hours
- Complete an ultramarathon of over 100 kilometers
- A one-week Lake Biwa running challenge of about 200 kilometers
- Weight dropped from 74.7kg to 62kg, and muscle mass must be maintained and fat can only be lost
The actual progress was faster than the target. Within 5 months, the target was reduced to 61.5kg, and the body shape completely changed. I also completed the marathon and ultramarathon within 4 hours:

When the first anniversary was reached, he also released a video on YouTube. The cumulative number of views reached 6 million and was reported by various online media in Japan.
He also shared that the most dangerous stage was when he was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March 2025. His cough and physical discomfort were so severe that he was unable to run. However, because the training plan stipulated that he should not stop for a day, he instead walked 10 kilometers at home to make up the mileage, and gritted his teeth to complete the muscle training:

In the second half, he felt that his physical fitness had improved significantly and he could do more high-intensity movements. For example, he could do pull-ups 30 times in a row and parallel bar push-ups 62 times in a row. This meant that the strength of his upper body, back muscles, arms and core stability had been greatly improved. He was not simply losing weight, but actually building solid muscle mass and endurance:

It was not until April 20, 2026 that he finally completed this challenge. Below is the 3-year cumulative data he shared. It is really strong. Additional muscle training was added in the later period:
- Running distance: 16,136 kilometers (he himself described it as “a distance that runs through Japan 4 to 5 times”)
- Push-ups: 109,600 times
- Sit-ups: 109,600
- Squat: 109,600 reps
- Parallel bar holds: 17,848 times
- Pull-ups: 9,314 reps
- Standing calf raises: 80,100 reps

Many people will be curious, can these exercises alone make the body look so good? Of course, diet must also be controlled.
He also strictly controls his diet, with 4 meals a day and a total of 1,721 calories, including 209.0 protein, 44.7 lipids, and 127.2 carbohydrates. Below it is written “混手な自吃も行い、吃事 restricted も続けた”, which means that he continues to cook by himself, and even though he is not good at cooking, he still adheres to dietary restrictions:
