Through the update of the developer version, we can almost now know in advance the direction of new features of Apple’s device system in the future – of course, major revisions still have to wait. WWDC La (looking forward to it). In the past two days, the developer beta version of iOS 14.5 has been released. This update has some noteworthy improvements, such as the correction of misjudgment of battery health that may cause trouble for iPhone 11 / iPhone 11 Pro / iPhone 11 Pro Max users – if your iPhone 11 has recently detected a battery problem, you should wait for recalibration after this update to see if it can return to normal. Continue reading The iPhone 11 series battery health error will be fixed in iOS 14.5, and Siri will also provide more “diversified” reporting content.

iPhone 11 series battery health bug will be fixed in iOS 14.5, and Siri will be more “diverse”
I don’t know if you have any iPhone 11 series in your hands. Recently, you have encountered a miscalculation of the battery power that led to unexpected power consumption, or have you felt that the peak performance of the phone that you just bought has been reduced? After a subsequent check of the battery health settings, I found a battery analysis report with a lower-than-expected percentage, and even a notification suggesting battery repair.

Although it is not ruled out that it is really a problem with the battery hardware, Apple has recently discovered that there may be a problem with the battery health reporting function of iOS corresponding to the iPhone 11 series, and has worked to solve it in this iOS 14.5 developer beta. The page mentions that “Incorrect battery health reports do not indicate a real problem with battery health.” – At least this may be the case in versions prior to iOS 14.5.
according toOfficial recalibration instructions page, after recalibration after this software update (the calibration may take several weeks because it requires a fixed cycle, during which the “Important Battery Message” that is being recalibrated will be prompted), the maximum capacity and precise peak performance data can be made more accurate, and the message that requires maintenance may disappear (cross hands); if it still prompts that maintenance is needed, it may be that the battery is really bad (QQ).

That is to say, basically if you continue to use it, except that the peak performance may be limited, there should be no safety issues, but if you want to fully restore it, you will inevitably have to replace the battery. However, if you encounter recalibration failure after updating to iOS 14.5, Apple promises to provide free replacement; if the recalibration period happens to be out of warranty, it will provide a temporary extended warranty; if the battery was replaced due to an error before iOS 14.5, it is recommended to contact AppleCare service for processing.
Siri has also been improved
The upcoming iOS 14.5 update also includes improvements to our always-listening “Hey, Siri” voice assistant. As “one of the practices of Apple’s long-term commitment to diversity and inclusion…” this update will allow you to directly select the default male and female voices when the system is initially set up. Hey! Indeed, it seems that most voice assistant services still default to a female voice?

Previously, Siri has begun to provide more natural voices through neural text-to-speech (Neural TTS) technology. This time, it has added two new voices with different tones in English (to a total of four. Currently, there are still two types in Chinese, but Neural TTS is supported). Responses to specific issues such as Black Lives Matter, Stop Asian Hate, and gender-based slurs are also provided.
Alerts for COVID-19 airport entry and exit health measures have been previously added to Apple Maps. After this update, Siri will also support relevant questions including: testing locations, vaccination locations and suggested answers to symptoms.
