Not long after YouTube’s redesign, it is testing three new comment sections
No matter how you feel about the current comments section of the YouTube mobile app, it is certain that YouTube itself is not very satisfied (eh). Best of all, they were also incredibly hesitant about how to fix it. Recently it was discovered that the official seems to have simply given up the power to decide the design and directly released a variety of layouts for users to try on their own – the whole concept of having fun.
Previously, YouTube significantly adjusted the position of comments on the mobile app layout, moving them from the bottom to above the recommended content. It is also very considerate to prevent comments from being accidentally ignored and the content of the video to be exposed. We chose a layout with numbers and a close button, so that there is only one message left and the total number of messages is displayed. This not only prevents comments from being exposed, but also reminds everyone not to forget to open the message and engage in interactive discussions.
However, this revision did not last long. YouTube has been found to have made many adjustments to this section… to be more precise, it has released at least three new comment sections.

Different from the previously revised comment block, YouTube has tried a quick comment box that can make comments more attractive, as well as different designs with/without matching key message content. In addition, there is also a version that only slightly changes the expansion symbol to a text description – you really won’t notice this unless you look closely.

It has to be said that from these actions, YouTube really cares a lot and hopes to attract users to interact with YouTube channel owners through text messages. But wouldn’t this method of simply randomly pushing messages to users to AB test their responses lead to confusion? I always feel that it would be more practical to unify the interface of all platforms first.
