Although Big Navi is officially confirmed to be launched this year, many players are still very curious about how much this new graphics card series will cost to compete with its rival NVIDIA’s RTX 30 series. Recently, foreign whistleblower Rogame revealed some information on this new architecture graphics card, which is expected to be named RX 6000 series, through Twitter. The most interesting thing about Navi 21 XT (possibly named RX 6900 XT) is that the Boost clock part is as high as 2.4GHz, which is much higher than AMD’s own previous generation graphics card. Although the clock comparison is not very meaningful due to different architectures, the improved clock numbers always give people an impression of powerful performance:

Before a new product is released, some gossips provided by tipsters always give people some expectations for the new product. However, as the time of publication gets closer, these data have obviously become more credible. Rogame, a foreign whistleblower, revealed some information about AMD’s new architecture graphics card Big Navi. Especially the part about Boost clock is described in quite detail.
What is known at this stage is that Big Navi will be divided into several cores based on product positioning. The known names are Navi 21 XT, Navi 21 XL, and Navi 21 XTX and Navi 21 XLE, which are different from past naming habits. The first two are estimated to be RX 6900 XT and RX 6900 graphics cards. It is still curious to know which model of GPU the latter two will correspond to. But as the publication date approaches, perhaps we will see the answer soon:

Rogame mainly revealed the clock settings of the two cores of Navi 21 XT and Navi 21 XL. Among them, Navi 21 XT is regarded by many media as the flagship model of AMD’s new architecture graphics card, and the same is true for the clock figures revealed. Navi 21 XT will likely adopt a base clock of 1450 MHz to 1500 MHz, a game clock of 2000 MHz to 2100 MHz, and a Boost clock of 2200 MHz to 2400 MHz. In other words, when the graphics card is running at full speed, the graphics card clock may fluctuate between 1450 MHz and 2400 MHz. Such a change is quite rare in modern graphics cards, and may also be bold common sense for AMD:

Navi 21 XL is positioned slightly lower than Navi 21 XT, but the clock beat range is equally astonishing. From the base clock setting of 1350 MHz to 1400 MHz, it may reach a maximum range of 2100MHz to 2200MHz.
However, in theory, the settings of AMD’s official version may be more conservative, and settings such as the so-called Boost clock 2.2GHz or 2.4GHz may be seen in some unofficial graphics cards.
Of course, in order to cope with the higher clock speed and the TGP that will increase to 225W, this type of graphics card will definitely need a better cooling design to handle the heat on the graphics card, such as a three-slot air cooling configuration, or even a dedicated water cooling configuration:

The two cores of Navi 21 XL and Navi 21 XT are said to use 12GB to 16GB GDDR6 display memory, and the memory bandwidth is speculated to be 256 bits. However, the final specifications are still based on the information released after the announcement. I think this specification does not seem to be too controversial. For players who simply want to wait for the performance ladder of new cards, these two cores do have a chance to compete with NVIDIA’s newly launched high-end graphics cards, but it is still unknown who will win and who will lose.
