Due to telecom mergers, Taiwan has returned to an oligopolistic market dominated by the “New Big Three” telecom companies. Amid the efforts of these three giants and the failure of the NCC and the Fair Trade Commission—both lacking strong leadership—to effectively enforce oversight, all three companies delivered exceptionally strong operational performance in 2025. Far EasTone, in particular, set all-time highs across multiple metrics, and the operational performance of all three major telecom operators in 2025 was exceptionally strong.
What will the full-year operating performance of the “Big Three” telecom companies look like in 2025? The following is a summary of the 2025 unaudited consolidated operating results announced by the telecom operators.:

The “Big Three” telecom companies recently announced their self-reported consolidated operating results for the full year of 2025. Chunghwa Telecom’s self-reported consolidated revenue for 2025 reached a record high of NT$236.11 billion, with EPS hitting an eight-year high; key financial indicators such as revenue, operating profit, and pre-tax profit all exceeded the upper end of the annual financial forecast; Far EasTone Telecom’s 2025 consolidated total revenue of NT$11.341 billion, consolidated EBITDA of NT$3.347 billion, and EPS of NT$3.81 all set new all-time highs, while its full-year net income after tax also reached a 20-year high; Due to momo’s underperformance compared to previous years, Taiwan Mobile’s 2025 consolidated revenue of NT$198.76 billion declined slightly by 0.3% year-over-year, but its post-tax EPS of NT$4.77 reached a seven-year high.

The following are the 2025 operating results as reported in the self-prepared announcements by the “Big Three” telecom companies:

1. Chunghwa Telecom:

Chunghwa Telecom reported consolidated self-reported revenue of NT$236.11 billion for 2025, a 2.7% year-over-year increase, setting a new record high; net income attributable to owners of the parent company was NT$38.69 billion, up 4% year-over-year; Cumulative earnings per share (EPS) reached NT$4.99, up 4% year-over-year, also setting an eight-year record. According to the company’s data, key financial indicators—including revenue, operating profit, and profit before tax—all exceeded the upper end of the annual financial forecast.
In the fixed-line broadband and mobile services segments, the company maintained its leading market share in terms of customer numbers throughout 2025, driving a 2.8% year-over-year increase in annual fixed-line broadband revenue and a 3.0% year-over-year increase in mobile service revenue.
As of the end of December, the total number of mobile subscribers reached 13.238 million. Driven by the expansion of the postpaid subscriber base and increased penetration of 5G upgrades, the average revenue per user (ARPU) for postpaid mobile services rose to 582 yuan, representing a year-over-year increase of 4.5%. In the fixed-line segment, the number of “Optical Generation” broadband subscribers reached 3.93 million, with 1.73 million subscribers on plans of 300 Mbps or higher—a year-over-year increase of 13.3%—driving steady growth in overall fixed-line broadband revenue. The ICT business also delivered strong performance, with full-year revenue growing by 3.9%. In particular, IDC and cloud services stood out, achieving double-digit year-over-year revenue growth.

2. Taiwan Mobile:

In 2025, Taiwan Mobile saw a 4% increase compared to the same period in 2024, driven by steady growth in its consumer telecommunications business and accelerated expansion in both its enterprise telecommunications and new technology businesses.
Taiwan Mobile reported consolidated revenue of NT$198.76 billion for 2025, with operating income of NT$21.45 billion—a 6% year-over-year increase—and net income after tax of NT$14.44 billion, up 4% year-over-year. Earnings per share (EPS) after tax were NT$4.77, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year; In the enterprise telecommunications segment, revenue from related projects continued to contribute, and with AIDC beginning to generate revenue, telecommunications revenue rose by approximately 20% year-over-year. In the New Technology segment, businesses such as the Audio-Visual Multi-Enjoyment Group, game publishing, and telecom finance all posted impressive growth. In terms of profitability, consolidated operating profit rose by 25% year-over-year.

3. Far EasTone Telecommunications

Far EasTone’s consolidated total revenue for the full year of 2025 reached NT$110.346 billion, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 5.5%; consolidated EBITDA and net income after tax for the year were NT$38.080 billion and NT$13.732 billion, respectively, with year-over-year growth rates of 4.9% and 6.9%; In 2025, consolidated total revenue, consolidated EBITDA, and EPS of NT$381 million all reached record highs, while full-year net income after tax also hit a 20-year high.
In the mobile communications business, the penetration rate of 5G postpaid subscribers reached 47.5%, and the company maintained its industry-leading position in both this metric and postpaid ARPU. Total mobile service revenue reached 5.284 billion yuan, representing a year-over-year growth rate of 2.6%, marking the 58th consecutive month of positive revenue growth.
The company’s ICT business posted solid performance, maintaining double-digit annual growth. This, combined with the on-schedule delivery of multiple system integration, IoT, and cloud service projects at year-end, further bolstered revenue growth. At the same time, the performance of the consumer digital services segment was equally impressive. Far EasTone’s diversified strategy for digital lifestyle services has gradually begun to bear fruit, driving steady revenue growth.
