Uber Eats officially announced the launch of Uber One’s new “Family Sharing” feature, bringing a membership experience closer to family life for Taiwanese users. Starting from now, all Uber One subscribers can invite another adult to join the same family account. The two people can jointly enjoy member-exclusive benefits across Uber and Uber Eats, from food delivery and fresh groceries to Uber ride-hailing services, all upgraded simultaneously. This upgrade is also connected with the existing “Youth Account”, “Student Plan” and “Senior Account” to fully demonstrate the scenario of Uber and Uber Eats accompanying every stage of family life.

Uber Eats launches “Uber One Family Sharing, where one person subscribes and two people share

According to Uber’s internal statistics, Uber One members can save an average of 331 yuan per month. After the family sharing function is launched, these benefits are no longer limited to a single account, but can be shared by two adults, doubling the value of the membership. The number of Uber One members will continue to grow in 2025, with an annual growth rate of 27%; at the same time, the proportion of Uber One members calling a ride for others is 2.3 times that of non-members, showing that members’ demand for use in family scenarios has increased significantly, and also highlights the actual benefits of Uber One in daily life.

Currently, Uber One members can enjoy a 0 yuan delivery fee and up to 80% service fee discount in the Uber Eats App as long as they choose a partner merchant with the “Uber One” logo and reach the minimum order amount; when calling a ride on the Uber App, they can receive up to 5% of Uber One points back for eligible trips. Members can also enjoy occasional exclusive discounts and prioritize matching with highly rated delivery and driving partners, making the overall experience smoother and more secure.

With the rapid changes in Taiwan’s family structure and lifestyle, the demand for convenience, autonomy and flexible services continues to rise. In recent years, Uber has successively launched a number of account features catering to different age groups, and has observed remarkable results: the “Youth Account” designed for 13 to 17-year-olds has seen a 150% increase in the number of active users in the past six months; the Uber One “Student Plan” for 18 to 25-year-olds has seen the number of members grow more than six-fold since its launch; and the Uber “Senior Account” has also seen a nearly five-fold increase in active users since its launch in June last year. These data show that whether they are teenagers, students or seniors, they are gradually integrating digital mobile and food delivery services into their daily lives, and the demand for technological convenience across generations is steadily increasing.

Uber and Uber Eats have also simultaneously sorted out the current service structure for different family members, demonstrating their core concept of “accompanying family life every step of the way”:

  • Uber One Family Sharing: One person subscribes, two people share full membership benefits
  • Teen Account (ages 13–17): Develop independent mobility under parental supervision
  • Uber Senior Account: Provides a more intuitive ride-hailing experience for seniors with a simple interface
  • Uber One Student Plan (18–25 years old, 30% off subscription fee): A high-cost option to support campus life

Through these cross-age service integrations, Uber and Uber Eats not only provide convenience, but also hope to become an indispensable daily partner in family life, allowing every member to enjoy the freedom and flexibility brought by technology in the way that best suits them.
