2026 Smart City Exhibition and Net Zero City Exhibition will be held from March 17 (Tuesday) Exhibited at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 from March 20 (Friday) to March 22 (Sunday) at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, the three telecommunications companies will display the latest applications of 5G and AI technology in smart cities with different themes, including Chunghwa Telecom “Haiti Starry Sky, Network Resilience, AI Sustainability”, Taiwan Mobile “Smart Empowerment Green Future” and Far EasTone Telecommunications “Big Shot Empowerment” Innovation, resilience, and sustainability.”
What new technologies and applications will Telecom Sanxiong display at the 2026 Smart City Exhibition and Net Zero City Exhibition? Here is a summary:

Most of the 5G and AI innovative applications demonstrated by Telecom Sanxiong at the 2026 Smart City Exhibition have been implemented in various cities or enterprises in Taiwan. Among them, Taiwan Mobile’s “Smart Firefighting” was shortlisted for the MWC GLOMO Awards “5G Smart Fire Auxiliary Rescue System” and Far EasTone Telecom’s “Smart AI Platform” were also invited to the MWC 2026 Microsoft exhibition area. Let the mobile communication technologies of Taiwan’s three major telecommunications companies no longer be just dumb pipes, but also help enterprises and cities quietly implement smart management, green energy sustainability and network resilience through technology.
The following is a summary and description of various 5G and AI innovative applications demonstrated by Telecom Sanxiong:

1. Chunghwa Telecom:
This year, with the theme of “Haiti Starry Sky, Network Resilience, AI Sustainability”, Chunghwa Telecom displayed 15 diversified application results in Taipei exhibition area, including resilient network, resilient medical care, smart transportation, cultural technology, biological conservation and international co-creation, demonstrating its profound strength in leading the sustainable development of smart cities with the “Haiti Starry Sky” strategy.

A. “Multi-orbit satellite”:
Chunghwa Telecom is actively deploying multi-orbit satellites to strengthen the country’s network resilience. Last year, it successively obtained commercial licenses for OneWeb low-orbit satellites and SES O3b mid-orbit satellites. It has strategically cooperated with Astranis Satellite Company of the United States and is expected to provide services in the second half of this year and launch Taiwan’s first dedicated satellite.
Chunghwa Telecom demonstrated the practical progress of the “Haiti Starry Sky” strategy in the exhibition area. Through an interactive large screen, it fully demonstrated that Chunghwa Telecom has integrated submarine cables, mobile and fixed communication networks, microwaves, and multi-orbit satellites to create a national-level multi-layered resilient network to ensure uninterrupted services in disasters or emergencies. It also actively promotes the construction of all-optical networks, strives to build AIDC and AI computing power clouds, and creates an AI application development environment in Taiwan.

B. “Resilient Medicine”:
Chunghwa Telecom combines the low latency of 5G and the high-resilience communication network of “Haiti Starry Sky”, with smart drone delivery, aerial cold chain and smart cold storage boxes, to build a resilient blood and medicine delivery system, establish emergency air corridors, and simultaneously monitor flight status and temperature control data to speed up the delivery time of emergency blood products and medicines to pre-hospital, grasp the “golden hour” life-saving moment, and assist government disaster relief and rural medical care.
C. “5G Unmanned Vehicle Smart Application”:
Chunghwa Telecom integrates drone technology, 5G, AI and flight control systems, and uses self-developed unmanned vehicle smart inspection services to instantly transmit high-resolution images and data to the combat center. Through real-time monitoring and AI analysis, it improves the efficiency of on-site monitoring, inspections and decision-making, and supports services such as factory inspections, solar panel inspections and drone logistics, demonstrating the diverse application capabilities of drones.
D. “Smart Transportation”:
Chunghwa Telecom has been deeply involved in the field of smart transportation for a long time. It has independently developed AI human and vehicle flow identification technology and integrated it into embedded cameras, so that AI computing can complete the identification on the camera side. It can identify traffic flow, intersection turning amount, stop length, pedestrian dynamics, etc., and can be used in smart transportation scenarios such as traffic volume survey, smart signal control, and pedestrian safety. Using AI to predict traffic congestion, the signal plan can be adjusted immediately according to the hierarchical and grouped traffic diversion strategy before road congestion occurs to relieve traffic congestion caused by commuting peaks and event crowds. It can also be combined with emergency vehicle priority signals to improve the efficiency of rescue and disaster relief, and improve the total travel time. It can also identify pedestrian crossing lines, and the system can cooperate with signals to ensure safe passage.
In addition, Chunghwa Telecom is the first in China to apply digital twin technology to smart railways. It simulates railway operating conditions through innovative composite positioning, 5G low-latency transmission and AI smart analysis technology, effectively improving train operation safety, maintenance efficiency and environmental sustainability.
E. “Energy-saving smart bus stop”:
Chunghwa Telecom uses the ultra-low power consumption characteristics of e-paper panels and integrates solar power supply systems to create efficient, environmentally friendly and sustainable solar-powered e-paper smart stop signs. It also introduces a wave-free waiting service. People press the reservation button on the stop sign to notify the driver to stop at the stop. In addition, through mobile communication technology and the cloud-based smart stop sign management and monitoring platform, information such as stop sign power, communications, on-site stop sign images, stop sign dumping, etc. can be monitored in real time, providing a new solution for the intelligentization and low-carbonization of bus stops.
F. “Guarding the Smart City Environment”:
In order to promote green environmental protection, Chunghwa Telecom independently develops AI image recognition technology and applies it to diversified environmental protection technology law enforcement. Its services include motorcycle exhaust pipe identification, illegal abandonment identification (vehicle identification), littering detection, license plate and behavior identification and other characteristic identification, effectively assisting government environmental protection units in environmental monitoring of noise, waste, waste soil and other environmental protection. Combined with Vision Language Model (VLM) technology, it can quickly identify license plates and analyze various vehicle body types, allowing authorities to quickly query evidence information and improve incident processing efficiency.
G. “Pick up with confidence” service:
Chunghwa Telecom uses its self-developed phone number concealment platform to de-identify phone numbers and hide codes in both directions during contact, allowing enterprises and consumers to use representative numbers as a communication bridge, effectively preventing personal information leakage and fraud risks, protecting people’s privacy, strengthening corporate brand reputation, and ensuring the security of transaction connections.
H, “Multi-modal smart ecological monitoring system”:
Chunghwa Telecom is committed to protecting “biodiversity” and uses 5G and AIoT technologies to create a “multi-modal smart ecological monitoring system” that combines smart applications such as AI image recognition, voice recognition, electronic fencing and water monitoring to monitor population dynamics around the clock, monitor the habitat environment, and prevent external disturbances and intrusions. It can also be combined with GPS path tracking to support migration research and risk assessment. This system was successfully applied to Qigu Wetland in Tainan, and under the joint protection of all parties, it effectively increased the number of black-faced spoonbills by more than 500. In addition, Chunghwa Telecom uses its operating bases as ecological demonstration bases to launch the “Hundred Conservation Projects” to care for the conservation of threatened plants in Taiwan and concretely implement its commitment to environmental protection.

2.Taiwan Big Brother:
With the theme of “Smart Empowerment and Green Future” this year, Taiwan Mobile will showcase 20 service applications in six major areas: “Smart Home and Energy Storage”, “Smart Mobility”, “Smart Stores”, “Smart Infrastructure”, “Smart Healthcare” and “Smart Fire Protection”.

A. “Smart Home and Energy Storage”:
a.Tesla Powerwall certified installation qualification:
Taiwan Mobile has obtained the Tesla Powerwall certified installation manufacturer qualification, providing one-stop customized planning to construction and after-sales service. It means that it will officially enter the home energy storage market and serve as an important starting point for the layout of “smart energy storage”.

b.OP Xiangle Life:
“OP Xiangle Life” integrates content, equipment, networks and services, and has sold more than 140,000 units in total. Among them, “OP Audio-visual Theater” and “OP Smart Home” packages combine AI smart technology to realize cross-brand device connection and support multi-system voice control.
c. “SwitchBot Smart Video Guard Set”:
Through the intuitive experience of “no need to change the lock, unlock when approaching, and open the door remotely”, we create a safer and more convenient home entrance management with a low threshold and easy entry.
B. “Smart Mobility”:
Taiwan Mobile uses the Taiwan Mobility strategy to create a “charging + parking + sharing” smart mobility solution.
a.MyCharge charging service:
It has expanded to more than 100 stations and nearly 600 charging piles across Taiwan, and introduced AC “plug and charge” service, driving user penetration to increase by more than 7 times year-on-year and driving up revenue growth by 4 times in the past year. At the same time, in order to improve the charging experience of electric car owners, MyCharge has completed charging roaming cooperation with a number of car manufacturers. At the end of March, it will also launch the “OpenHub Charging Roaming Service” in cooperation with Xinglian Technology. Electric car owners who use My Toyota and Lexus Plus App can activate the MyCharge charging service.
b.USPACE:
Through the acquisition of Japan’s Nokisaki and its presence in Southeast Asia, it has established Asia’s leading parking network with more than 2 million members. The USPACE Premium subscription service integrates parking, airport transfers, chauffeurs, car washes, coatings and 24-hour concierges, with a Churn Rate of 0%, showing that the parking scene has been transformed into a multi-service entrance to life.
c.WeMo shared scooter:
WeMo shared scooters have 1.5 million users, created nearly 150 million kilometers of travel, and have invested 8,000 units of the new second-generation model WeMo Fly. The service covers all five cities in Taiwan and outlying islands, deeply connecting high-speed rail, trains, passenger transportation and surrounding business districts for accommodation.

C. “Smart Store”:
Taiwan Mobile has launched a one-stop AI solution service to accurately solve the challenges of labor shortage and time fragmentation faced by small and medium-sized enterprises.The “OP Store Opening Package” provides mobile phone calls, turning your mobile phone into a phone to ensure that business opportunities are not missed; the self-developed “Voice AI Application” includes “AI Smart Voice” that can automatically handle reservations and customer service, effectively sharing peak manpower, and “AI Smart Ordering” that emphasizes the inclusiveness of technology, allowing the elderly or people with mobility issues to order food through voice, achieving digital equality and reducing manual errors. “AI Coach” uses ASR and TTS technology to simulate operational conversations, significantly reducing human training costs. In terms of operational infrastructure, Taiwan has integrated online ordering and reservation systems, and also launched Telecom’s first BNPL service “Big Brother Pays You Installment” to provide flexible payment options for high-unit-price industries, effectively increasing unit prices and transaction rates.

D. Smart infrastructure:
Taiwan Mobile’s “smart infrastructure” focuses on the “AI Data Center (AIDC)” with three cores: AI-Ready, efficient cooling, and sustainable energy saving. The computer room has 16MW of IT Load deployment capability, power capacity of up to 25MW, single cabinet heat dissipation capacity of more than 135kW, and up to 1,700 standard cabinets can be deployed. It also integrates the latest liquid cooling technology and high-density computing architecture, and uses AI to optimize power and heat dissipation design. The optimized PUE can be reduced to 1.2, providing enterprises with a green and sustainable computing power foundation.
In addition, Taiwan Mobile has a strategic partner with NVIDIA, one of only seven NCP (Reference Platform Cloud Partner) in the world, to deploy up to 7,000 Blackwell GB300 GPUs in the AIDC computer room, and launched “Computing Power as a Service (GPUaaS)” to transform the powerful computing power of GB300 into a “rent-and-use, pay-as-you-go” highly flexible service.
In response to the extremely high requirements for information security and compliance of governments and financial institutions, a highly isolated private cloud computing environment is created through dedicated circuit VPN secure connection to realize the deployment of computing power; the “Carbon Management System and Consulting Service” deeply integrates cloud carbon inventory platforms, professional consulting and third-party verification resources to help enterprises accurately grasp carbon footprints, and supports ISO 14064-1, ISO 14067, GHG Protocol and other international standards, and provides enterprises with flexible setting of organizational boundaries, highly customized inventory reports and analysis charts, and powerful supply chain data management functions. By introducing diversified domestic and foreign carbon emission coefficient databases, manufacturing, medical, school, chain retail and other industries can greatly improve inventory efficiency, shortening the traditional greenhouse gas inventory that takes 3 to 6 months to 15 days, increasing efficiency by more than 80%, helping enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the era of computing power, and accelerate the achievement of net-zero transformation and sustainability goals.

E. Smart medical care:
Taiwan’s Big Brother focuses on three core AI capabilities in its “smart medical” applications, including technology that supports mixed Chinese, English, Taiwanese and guest speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS), and the GenAIus smart brain based on a large language model. Based on these technologies, Taiwan Brother has developed five major AI applications in the medical field: “AI Pre-Consultation” allows patients to describe symptoms by interacting with the AI assistant before seeing a doctor, and automatically compiles information to the medical system to help doctors quickly understand the condition; “AI Voice Registration” allows patients to complete registration in natural language, eliminating the cumbersome traditional button-pressing process; “AI Dictation Brother” provides more than 15 summary templates, allowing “AI Disease Process Record”, “AI Both “Nursing Handover” and “AI Clinic Records” can be quickly transcribed and consolidated, significantly shortening the working time of medical staff. In addition, Taiwan University is deeply involved in the field of medical communications. Its M+ enterprise instant messaging system is connected with the medical information system to realize two-way real-time feedback of medical orders, accelerate medical decision-making and automatically update medical records.

F. Smart fire protection:
In the field of “smart firefighting”, Taiwan Mobile showcased the “5G smart firefighting auxiliary rescue system” that was recently shortlisted for the MWC GLOMO Awards “Best Mobile Innovation Supporting Emergency or Humanitarian Situations”.
Taiwan’s first “smart firefighting” solution introduces four core technologies: 1. The mobile 5G private network can be set up within minutes of arriving at the site, providing an uninterrupted, low-latency communication cornerstone; 2. High-precision LiDAR technology is used to instantly generate indoor 3D images in harsh environments filled with dense smoke. Maps transform invisible threats into “visible” disaster relief information; 3. High-precision positioning within 120 centimeters of indoor trajectory error allows the command center to know the specific location of firefighters, improving dispatch accuracy; 4. By real-time monitoring of team members’ heartbeats and remaining gas cylinders, alarms can be proactively issued to remind evacuation before a crisis occurs. In a simulated fire scene test scenario, by integrating personnel positioning and physiological monitoring information through the system, the command terminal can grasp the status of people entering the room and complete rescue deployment in about 2 minutes. Compared with the past methods that relied on manual reporting and one-by-one confirmation, which often took dozens of minutes, the response time at the fire scene was greatly shortened; and more possibilities were gained for lives during the golden rescue moment.

3. Far EasTone Telecom:
Far EasTone Telecom participated in the exhibition this year with the theme of “Empowering Far EasTone Big Figures to Innovate, Resilience, and Sustainability” and presented 19 performance applications to the industry and public sectors, including 5 industry firsts including “Smart Hub”, “Smart Environmental Water Monitoring”, “Smart Meter”, “Smart Air Products”, and “Low Carbon Campus Energy Solution”.

A. Five industry-first applications:
Far EasTone Telecommunications exhibited five industry-first applications, including:
a. “Smart Hub”: Yu Songyan created Taiwan’s first Ministry of Economic Affairs policy cooperation demonstration site.
b. “Smart environmental water regime monitoring” : Nearly 700 stations in 6 counties and cities, more than one-third of the total in Taiwan, ranking first in scale.
c. “Smart Meter”: The total number reached 2.18 million, more than one-third of the total number in Taiwan, ranking first in number.
d. “Wisdom is empty”:Introduced into the 4 counties and cities of Taipei, New Taipei, Hsinchu, and Taoyuan, ranking first in northern Taiwan.
e. “Low Carbon Campus Energy Solution” (EMS): It has been introduced into 1,426 primary and secondary schools, more than 60,000 classrooms, and more than 20 colleges and universities across the country, making it the first campus EMS brand.

B. “Far EasTone Smart” AI platform:
Far EasTone Telecommunications was invited to showcase the “Far EasTone Smart” AI platform at the MWC Microsoft booth, including “Smart Traffic Image Detection” that can help the police arrive at the scene eight minutes in advance, “Traffic Sign Network Service” that has been introduced at more than a thousand intersections in Taipei City, and green IDC cloud data center and cloud services that meet both AI computing power and low-carbon needs.

C..Smart charging territory expansion:
Far EasTone Telecommunications demonstrated its smart charging expansion achievements in the exhibition area, including the Donghua University public electric vehicle fast and slow charging piles that were just launched in February this year. It built 5 charging stations with a total of 32 charging piles, becoming the largest charging station in the east; “Antong Tiema Station” and “Luoshan Visitor Center” have 240kW fast charging charging piles to complete the charging map in the east; there are 149 fast and slow charging guns in 10 public areas and 129 charging parking spaces in Hsinchu City, and a total of 14 fast and slow charging guns in 7 scenic spots in Taoyuan City.
In addition, Far EasTone is currently the charging roaming partner of “Benz Go” and will soon launch a charging roaming service together with “AMP Go” to provide car owners with a more convenient service that allows them to charge anywhere.

D.3 major applications support the postal park:
Far EasTone Telecommunications assisted the “Chunghwa Post Logistics Park” in building a central monitoring and management platform and IoT services, which is one of the few representative large-scale smart parks in China. The three major technology applications include “smart infrastructure” that combines smart street lights, high-resolution CCTV, and emergency rescue systems, “energy consumption data management” with smart water and electricity meters and energy monitoring, and “park central monitoring and management platform” that integrates old and new systems. It covers five major buildings including the logistics center, information center, North Taiwan Mail Operation Center, training center, and industrial and commercial service center.
