Google recently launched the video generation model Veo 2. Veo 2 can create high-quality videos across a wide range of themes and styles. Compared to Veo, Veo 2 shows improved understanding of real-world physics and the nuances of human movement and facial expressions. In addition, Veo 2 can also grasp the unique language of cinematography. You can use Veo 2 to specify genre, camera shots, and cinematic effects—just type in text and it can generate videos with a film-like quality. Today I’ve put together some examples so everyone can see just how good Veo 2 currently is. If you’re interested, keep reading~

More realistic physics effects! Google Veo 2 vs. leading industry models: an in-depth comparison

Google recently launched its latest video generation model, Veo 2, which is said to have improvements in physics, human movement, and subtle facial expressions, enhancing the detail and realism of generated videos. Veo 2 supports up to 4K resolution and can extend video length to several minutes. Compared to existing video generation models on the market, Veo 2 offers higher image quality and longer video duration.

Google has now opened up the Veo 2 model for use in VideoFX, ImageFX, and our latest lab project Whisk, though it’s not yet available for users in Taiwan. So the editor has gathered some videos created by experts using the Veo 2 video generation model for everyone to check out — to see whether Veo 2 is really as impressive as Google claims.

“The Heist,” a short film directed by Jason Zada, was made with every shot generated using Google Veo 2. When generating the video, Jason input “the gritty feel of 1980s New York.” Jason feels that Veo 2 stays very true to the prompt, and the video’s backgrounds and consistency are quite solid. Jason Zada noted that “The Heist” achieved this without any added visual effects, touch-ups, or color correction, and he’s already looking forward to what’s next.

Veo 2 can produce high-quality, realistic videos with resolutions up to 4K. In addition, Veo 2 can precisely interpret instructions such as camera style, shooting angles, and movement methods, allowing you to see operators use Veo 2 to create highly effective film trailers.

Netizen @henrydaubrez shares that Veo 2 has a remarkably high understanding of prompts for night photography, flash, stop-motion animation, first-person perspective, watercolor, pixel art, and more, executing them perfectly. The results left him deeply impressed.

Haters gonna hate but: VEO 2 and Google just blew everyone else out of the water. 🔈ON

I just came out of a very short night as I just couldn’t stop creating and here’s the result and a small walkthrough of my experience with the tool:

Veo 2 also has a pretty good grasp of real-world physics effects. You can check out how Veo 2 handles vehicles in motion and objects falling off a cliff:

Because Google is very proud of Veo 2’s performance in physics, some netizens have also tested how Veo 2 generates effects of liquid and solid interaction.

Google Veo 2 is fantastic when it comes to physics.

I put it to the test with a range of outputs to see how liquids and solids would react with each other.

According to official data provided by Google, comparing Veo 2 with other video generation models on the market, after reviewing 1003 prompts and corresponding videos, Veo 2 performed better in terms of overall preference and the ability to accurately follow prompts. In addition, Veo 2 can generate videos of longer length than other models.

I wonder what everyone thinks after watching the video above? Do you feel that Veo 2 really outperforms other video generation models currently on the market?
