There were previous rumors that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series would be released in early 2022 Q3, but there was no exact time at the time, and now there is finally further news. According to the latest reports from foreign media, the RTX 4090 will be released first, followed by the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070. Representatives say that for those who want to buy high-end graphics cards, if they can wait another two months, it is worth the wait. This time the RTX 40 series is expected to have much higher performance.

The RTX 4090 will be released first in August, with the 4080 and 4070 launching every other month.

Foreign media VideoCardz recently obtained some information about the release date of the GeForce RTX 40 series. The article states that many people will expect the RTX 40 series to be released on the same day (at least multiple photos at a time), but in fact it may not be the case. It is expected that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 will debut in August, the RTX 4080 will not be launched until one month to September, and the RTX 4070 will be even later. We won’t see it until October.

It should be noted that the time part may also change, because there is currently a lot of GeForce RTX 30 series inventory on the market. Manufacturers must not be happy to see such a large inventory and release the next generation. Therefore, NVIDIA may delay the release of the GeForce RTX 40 series depending on the inventory situation. At the same time, it was originally rumored that it would be published as early as July, but now it is August.

In addition, VideoCardz also added that RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 may have more similarities than previously expected. Although these two graphics cards use different GPU cores: AD102 and AD103, the motherboards may be the same, both PG139. The SKU number is 330 for RTX 4090 and 360 for RTX 4080.

In terms of specifications, it is currently rumored that the RTX 4090 will be equipped with 16128 CUDA cores, with 24GB GDDR6X memory, 384-bit memory interface bandwidth, and 21Gbps memory bandwidth, with a power consumption of 450W.

The number of CUDA cores of the RTX 4080 is not yet known, but the memory may be 16GB GDDR6X and 256-bit memory interface bandwidth. The memory bandwidth and power consumption are currently unclear.

The CUDA core equipped with the RTX 4070 is unknown. It may be equipped with 12GB GDDR6 or GDDR6X memory. The interface bandwidth is 192 bits. The memory bandwidth will be more than 18Gbps. The TDP power consumption is expected to exceed 300W.

For detailed specification comparison, please refer to the table organized by VideoCardz:

In addition to these three RTX 40 series, it is rumored that there is also an RTX 4090 Ti graphics card, but the release time is unknown. The GPU core may be AD102-350 (RTX 4090 is AD102-300), equipped with a memory of 48GB, the bandwidth is also increased to 24Gbps, and the power consumption is estimated to be 600W.
