There is a quick way to hide desktop icons on the Windows 10 desktop. This is to right-click on a blank space on the desktop, select [View] on the menu that appears, and uncheck [Show desktop icons] to hide all icons. However, opening or hiding them all each time does not seem to be very practical, because users may only want to hide specific folders and files.

In fact, Windows 10 allows users to hide specific files and folders without using third-party tools. Just click on the icon of the file you want to hide on the desktop and select [Content].

Check “Hide” at the bottom of the [General] tab screen and click [OK].

It is OK to hide the folder. Just right-click on the folder and select [Content]. On the [General] page that appears in the window, check “Hide” and press [OK].

Because there are subfolders and files in the folder, the window below will appear with a choice of whether you want to apply it to this folder or hide all the data below this folder.

If you have set the hidden settings like the author, you will find that the picture is only more transparent and not missing! In the picture below, a Sea application and a PDF file are only more transparent than 808.jpg. Why?

Don’t be nervous, open File Manager and enter [Options].

Go to the [View] tab to find “Hidden files and folders”, select “Do not show hidden files, folders, or drives” below it, and click [OK] to set the hidden folders not to be displayed!
