PowerDirector has always been a favorite editing software for many users. It supports Traditional Chinese, has a simple operation interface, and is as functional as Adobe Premiere. However, in the past, it only had Windows and Android versions, and Mac and iOS users have never been able to experience it. In September last year, it was officially revealed that it would be launched.iOS did launch in December last year, but there is no news about Mac. I originally thought that the ticket would not be delayed, but it finally came recently! It’s free for Mac users to download starting immediately.
PowerDirector Mac version is officially launched
Although PowerDirector Mac version is available on the App Store, for some reason, there is no way to download and install it directly from the Mac App Store. However, the official website provides an installation file, so those who want to try it now need to download it from the official website:

The installation file will start to download and exceeds 200MB, so it is recommended to download in a Wi-Fi environment:
Just keep pressing Next during the installation process:
Then you can find Power Director in Launchpad, called PowerDirector Essential:
You need to log in to your account before using it. If you haven’t yet, you can click “Quick Registration” below:
Then you can start using it. The interface is the same as the Windows version. If you have used Windows before, you should be able to get started quickly. The great thing about PowerDirector is that it comes with a lot of free materials available, like the free video clips below:
There are also background music and sound effects clips, so you don’t have to worry about the soundtrack:

As well as video special effects, you can apply them directly with one click:
However, when the free version outputs videos, there will be a watermark of PowerDirector in the lower right corner. If you want to delete it, you need to upgrade to a subscriber. The minimum price is NT$165 per month per year. You can also get new materials and other packages every month.
