Evernote is indeed the leader in cloud digital notes. Although there is no limit on storage space, the traffic is the throat of digital note-taking. Of course, users pay for it, but cloud applications come and go quickly. I don’t know when the lights will be turned off, and data transfer will be a big problem. I have a Synology NAS at home, and I don’t need to spend extra money to buy Evernote. I can easily get a digital private cloud note-taking Note Station, but what is always missing when using it? So I fell in love with the Joplin note-taking tool that supports cross-platform free and open source. It simply allows you to record your thoughts and thoughts in various forms, which can definitely meet the needs of ordinary people.
Since Evernote started charging and limited the number of device platforms, I considered paying. However, considering that the cloud service may collapse at any time, I still prefer tools that I can control myself, so I turned to Synology.Note StationFor a while, I felt that the Joplin note-taking tool was the most similar alternative to Evernote. After playing with it for a while, I personally found it quite useful and worth recommending.

JoplinIt is a set of free and open source note-taking software that supports multiple platforms (Mac, Windows, Android and iOS). Of course, the most important Traditional Chinese is not missing. It adds new notes and notes. It is simple, convenient and easy to use. The interface is very similar to Evernote. It is not difficult for people who need to take notes to get started. The download is a portable executable file that can be placed on a flash drive and easily taken with you. No installation is required, which is very convenient.
When you see the main screen, it looks very similar to Evernote, but it’s in English. Don’t worry, it supports Traditional Chinese! In addition to free software downloads, it is easy to enter without an account.
Go to the “Tools” menu in the menu and enter the “Options” image selection screen.
Select Chinese (Traditional) in the “Language” field and click [OK].
I immediately saw the Traditional Chinese menu on the menu, and after a rough operation, I found that more than 90% of the menu was Traditional Chinese, which should be pretty good.
Perhaps Joplin cannot compare with Evernote, and its functions are much inferior, but it can basically be completely controlled by itself. It can operate on a stand-alone machine, synchronize with the cloud on its own server, or use the Dropbox service to manage its own data. Don’t worry during the conversion process. Joplin supports the import of Evernote databases. It’s easy to transfer the data created by Evernote to Joplin.

Let’s take a look at the basic operations. Click “Add Notepad” above to add a new notepad for general classification, such as to-do items, work, travel, accounting, etc.
For example, the author creates a note category for photography teaching, and then adds a new note under this category.
Joplin uses Markdown editing syntax. The note screen is divided into a Markdown syntax area on the left half and a browsing area on the right half. The browsing area is the screen where notes are displayed. They cannot be edited but files can be attached. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand Markdown syntax. Using the [Editing Toolbar] above, basic editing is no problem.
Everyone has different ways of taking digital notes. At first, I mainly focused on to-do items. Later, I found that I had read a lot of information but could not remember it. So I developed good digital key notes and turned them into a personal learning digital information database by classifying them. As time went by, my digital notes became a knowledge base collection center. Therefore, quickly collecting web pages is an indispensable tool. Joplin is not far behind. It has Web support for Firefox and Chrome. Clipper’s plug-in package allows you to easily collect useful information.
Since Joplin does not require an account or the cloud, in order to facilitate the storage of web pages, two actions must be performed. One is to start the clipper service, and the other is to install the browser plug-in package.
The installation of the browser plug-in package is very simple, and you can join the browser package interface with one click.
With the plug-in kit of Web clipper, you can save the web content you like at any time.
Personally, I think Joplin can be regarded as a stand-alone version of Evernote. The database is stored on your own computer, with as much space as you need, and all functions are available for free. It is quite practical as a personal digital note database.
Where does the data of the stand-alone version exist? It turns out that the default value is in the JoplinProfile folder in the same directory as the executable file.
You can also synchronize with clouds, such as OneDrive, Nexcloud, Dropbox, etc., or even connect to your own WebDAV server!
