Recently, I came across a well-known female DIY creator from China named “Xiao Ningzi,” who successfully combined these three consoles into a single unit, meaning you can switch between all three games at any time using this one device.Video game consoleThe game is absolutely amazing! This is a gamer’s dream come true! Xiao Ningzi has successfully combined the PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2 into a single console.
The simplest solution would be to bundle the three main units together into a single unit—as Xiao Ningzi jokingly suggested in her video—but not only is this pointless, it also brings the total weight up to 10 kilograms:

After she took each computer apart, she discovered that the components taking up the most space weren’t the motherboards, but the heat sinks and power supplies. Therefore, simply addressing this issue would significantly reduce the overall size:

In the end, she drew inspiration from the classic cylindrical design of the Apple Mac Pro and designed a central cooling system capable of serving three motherboards simultaneously:

First, use 3D printing to create a preliminary model of the central heat sink:

She had originally planned to fabricate the central heat sink using CNC machining or metal 3D printing, but because the design was too complex and the prototyping and manufacturing costs were too high—especially since metal 3D printing was prohibitively expensive—she abandoned the idea:

In the end, she decided to combine the “lost-wax casting” technique—which dates back thousands of years—with 3D printing, a process also known as “lost-plastic casting”:

First, a prototype of the heat sink is 3D-printed using PLA material. It is then encased in high-temperature plaster and subjected to a 12-hour high-temperature firing process, during which the PLA vaporizes and disappears, forming a precision mold:

Of course, Xiao Ningzi didn’t succeed on her first try. The first time, the molten aluminum cooled and solidified too quickly during pouring, preventing the latter portion from filling the mold. Additionally, the heat sink design was too dense, and the plaster walls were too thin, causing the tip to break off:

However, now that we know the shortcomings, we can simply redesign it by adjusting the model density and temperature control. The second casting successfully produced a one-piece aluminum heat sink:

To ensure thermal conductivity, she also added a pure copper spacer between the chip and the aluminum heat pipes:

Once she was done, she didn’t immediately install all three consoles at once; instead, she first tested the PS5 motherboard on its own, attaching the PS5’s APU and memory modules directly to the cast aluminum core heatsink:

I booted up *Elden Ring* and played for 30 minutes without any overheating, and the heat was indeed dissipated into the aluminum block:

Although the Switch 2 combines three consoles into one, Xiao Ningzi designed a unique pop-up mechanism to preserve its handheld features. To achieve the ideal springy feel, she abandoned traditional metal springs and used dual-nozzle 3D printing technology to print PETG plastic springs directly inside the PLA casing. In the future, simply pressing a button will cause the console to pop out like a toaster:

The main unit’s casing is also 3D-printed. Once everything is finished, assemble all the parts:

Using the triangular button on top of the console, you can switch between PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2 screens with a single press. In our tests, every game ran without any issues, providing a stable and smooth gaming experience:
