Although Apple Intelligence has long supported Traditional Chinese, the substantially upgraded Siri AI has still not been made available in Traditional Chinese, so Taiwan iPhone users can only keep waiting. The good news is that, with the release of ioS 27.2, Apple has also officially confirmed that Siri AI will add Traditional Chinese by the end of this year! That means users will then be able to speak directly to Siri by voice using natural Chinese.
At the same time, Apple also announced three more languages that will be added soon, while the newly released iOS 27.2 has already made Siri AI available in five languages, including Japanese and Korean.

Siri AI to support Traditional Chinese by the end of the year! Apple announces new language timeline; iOS 27.2 will first add Japanese and conversational memory.
Apple’s recentOfficial Press Releaseannounced that Siri AI will add four languages by the end of the year: Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese! When Siri AI launched with iOS 27 in September, it only supported English; after iOS 27.2, it began expanding to 6 languages. If the 4 languages expected to be added by the end of the year are included, Siri AI will support 10 languages this year. The current progress is summarized below:
| Release time | Siri AI supported languages |
|---|---|
| September 2026 (iOS 27) | English |
| October 2026 (iOS 27.2) | French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish |
| By the end of 2026 | Traditional ChineseNorwegian, Turkish, Vietnamese |
However, Apple only said “by the end of the year” and did not provide an exact date or software version. 9to5Mac speculates that it will launch alongside iOS 27.3, which is expected to be released in December.
With the new version of Siri AI adding Traditional Chinese support, Siri will be very different from before and can help you do more, with four main enhanced capabilities:
- Natural language conversation: no longer just one question and one answer—it understands context and lets you keep asking follow-up questions about the same topic.
- Personal context understanding: able to find information from messages, emails, and photos—for example, directly asking, “What time was the dinner gathering that my mom sent last time?”
- Screen content understanding: Ask questions about the webpage or content currently displayed, and ask Siri to perform related actions.
- Execute tasks across apps: draft emails, edit and share photos for you—no longer limited to simple commands like setting alarms or checking the weather.

Of course, the new Siri AI can only be used on devices that support Apple Intelligence. For iPhone, that means iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 series, or newer models. Apple also noted that features relying on server-side models will have a daily usage limit, and in the future it will offer a paid option for users to get additional usage quota.

In addition to adding 5 Siri AI languages, the new iOS 27.2 also includes several Siri-related upgrades:
| New feature | Updates |
|---|---|
| Conversation memory | You can review previous conversations, for example by asking Siri which restaurant it recommended earlier. |
| Richer personal information | You can now search photos attached to messages, voicemail, and calendar participants, and Safari browsing history and Reading List searches are also more accurate. |
| App access control | Redesigned as “Excluded Apps,” allowing centralized management of which apps Siri, Search, and Suggestions can access. |
| Response text selection | You can select and copy only part of the text in Siri’s response. |
