Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus maintains 24 cores and 24 threads, that is, 8 P-cores and 16 E-cores, with a maximum clock speed of 5.5GHz, 36MB L3, 40MB L2 cache, 4-core internal display, and a maximum turbine power consumption of 160W. Compared with the previous generation 285HX, the number of cores, maximum clock speed, cache and power consumption are almost unchanged. The main difference is that the D2D clock speed is increased from 2.1GHz to 3.0GHz, and the E-core clock speed is also slightly increased by 100MHz, but the P-core clock speed is reduced by 100MHz.
Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus also continues the 20-core 20-thread design (8P + 12E) of the previous generation 265HX, with a maximum clock speed of 5.3GHz, 30MB L3, 36MB L2 cache, 4-core internal display and 160W maximum turbine power consumption. The main difference is also that the D2D clock is raised from 2.1GHz to 3.0GHz, and a small clock adjustment is made. The E-core increases by 100MHz and the P-core decreases by 200MHz.
There are two main improvements to Core Ultra 200HX Plus this time.
The first is that the D2D clock mentioned earlier is increased by 900 MHz to 3.0 GHz. “D2D” is the speed of communication between different blocks within the processor. Arrow Lake’s CPU is an architecture that uses multiple chips packaged together, so the transmission speed between internal chips is very important. This time the clock speed is increased by nearly 1 GHz. The direct benefit is to speed up the connection between the CPU and the memory controller and reduce system latency.
