Intel today (3/25) announced the launch of the new Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series mobile processors and Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series desktop processors, bringing more powerful assistance to gamers and content creators. Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus Series Mobile Processors
The Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus series is designed for high-end gaming, streaming, content creation and workstation needs. The first wave of processors is the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus and Core Ultra 7 270HX Plus. The new series introduces a number of architectural enhancements and new features, the most notable of which is support for the new Intel Binary Optimization Tool, which further improves the native performance of specific games through the first binary translation layer optimization technology.

The new Ultra 9 and Ultra 7 deliver significant and perceptible performance improvements through higher die-to-die interconnect frequencies and new binary optimization tools. Compared with the previous generation Core Ultra 9 285HX, Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus improves game performance by more than 8%, and single-thread performance increases by up to 7%. If you upgrade from the earlier Core i9-12900HX, game performance can be improved by more than 62%, and single-thread performance can be improved by up to 30%.

Highlights of this update include:
- Higher die-to-die interconnect frequency
Compared with Core Ultra 7 285HX and 265HX, the interconnect frequency is increased by up to 900MHz, increasing the connection speed between the CPU and the memory controller by nearly 1GHz, reducing system latency and improving game performance. - New Intel Binary Optimization Tool
Combining Intel’s 40 years of experience in workload optimization can improve IPC and actual use performance. Even if the workload has been optimized for other x86 processors, game consoles or older architectures, it can still further enhance performance and become an important foundation for Intel’s high-end gaming performance blueprint. - Advanced connectivity capabilities: Supports independent Intel Wi-Fi 7 (5 Gig), Intel Wireless Bluetooth 5.4 and Intel Thunderbolt 5, providing two-way bandwidth up to 80 Gbps, suitable for large file transfer, 8K streaming, device charging and multi-device cascading.

Systems equipped with Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus will be gradually launched by OEM partners starting from March 17, 2026. The actual launch time is subject to the announcement of each brand.
Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus Series Desktop Processors
Compared with Core Ultra 7 265K/KF and Core Ultra 5 245K/KF, the new 270K Plus and 250K/KF Plus not only use more cores, but also increase the die-to-die frequency by up to 900 MHz, bringing significant multi-thread performance increases. In addition, the Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series also introduces the Intel Binary Optimization Tool for the first time, which further enhances the native performance of specific games through new binary translation layer technology.

In actual gaming tests, the geometric mean performance of Core Ultra 7 270K Plus and Core Ultra 5 250K/KF Plus is 15% higher than that of existing Core Ultra desktop processors, and multi-thread performance is up to 103% higher than similar products, bringing players more powerful performance and higher cost performance.

The new Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus series brings a number of key specification and feature upgrades, including:
- More core configurations
Core Ultra 7 270K Plus: up to 24 cores (8P + 16E); Core Ultra 5 250K Plus: up to 18 cores (6P + 12E). Compared with the previous generation, the number of overall efficiency cores has been significantly increased, bringing stronger multi-tasking and creative performance.

- Inter-die interconnect frequency increased by 900 MHz
The die-to-die interconnect frequency is increased by nearly 1 GHz compared to the Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 5 245K, enabling faster transfers between the CPU and memory controller, reducing system latency and improving gaming performance. - New Intel Binary Optimization Tool
This technology combines Intel’s 40 years of workload optimization experience to improve IPC and actual performance through a new binary translation layer. Even if your application or game is optimized for other x86 platforms or older architectures, you can still get further performance gains. This technology will become a core element of Intel’s high-end gaming performance roadmap.
- Supports DDR5 7200 MT/s memory (non-Plus version 200S series is 6400 MT/s)
It is also compatible with Intel Core Ultra 200S Boost BIOS profile and provides 8,000 MT/s memory overclocking warranty. Continuing Intel’s tradition of delivering high-speed, advanced memory controllers. - First to support 4‑Rank CUDIMM memory
Each module can have a capacity of 128GB, providing HEDT-level memory space for high-end players and creators, while retaining the game optimization features of low latency and high bandwidth. This new module will be first supported on some motherboards equipped with Intel 800 series chipsets. - Compatibility and platform planning
Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus processors will maintain compatibility with all existing 800 series chipset motherboards. The new 800 series motherboards are expected to be launched in 2026 and include specific models that support 4‑Rank CUDIMMs.
