Rockstar Games originally launched “Grand Theft Auto 4” on the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms in 2008. This sequel from the classic open world series brought players a darker and realistic story and style, and it is still a classic in the hearts of many fans. But just recently, a player accidentally bought an Xbox 360 development kit suspected to be used by the Rockastar Games team on the second-hand market in Scotland, and it actually contained an early version of “Grand Theft Auto 4.”

When he first saw this console, the discoverer Jan didn’t know what treasure he had found. He only thought it was an original Xbox 360 thick console. However, upon closer inspection, he discovered that there were official Rockastar Games stickers on the console, as well as an expansion development device “Sidecar” installed on the side of the console.

In an interview with the Kotaku website, Jan said that he often frequents this kind of second-hand auction market. On the one hand, he can resell his unwanted items, and at the same time, he can try to dig out some good treasures. At the auction, he quickly noticed the Xbox 360 console and the devices mounted on it.

Although he had no idea where this Xbox 360 console came from at first, his instinct told him that it was definitely a good thing. After asking, the seller said that the console only cost 5 pounds, which is about NT$212, but because the buyer had no change, Jan finally bought the console for 10 pounds. But considering how amazing the contents are, the more than NT$400 is totally worth it.

It wasn’t until she took the console home and studied it in depth that Jan realized she’d bought something rare. Jan then shared part of the contents of the host on the Internet, allowing experts from data miners to assist him in making the host run smoothly. Not only that, he also tried to sell this Xbox 360 development machine from Rockstar Games. Although he once received an offer of more than 1,000 pounds, it was eventually removed from the shelves because the console contained software, and he is currently continuing to make offers through private messages.

Interestingly, part of the content of “Grand Theft Auto 4” installed on this development machine was erased, but with the help of some experts, Jan successfully repaired most of the files, which included test model images of characters, weapons, props, vehicles, maps, etc., which also allowed fans to analyze the differences with the final commercial version.

So far, fans have unearthed a number of surprising discoveries, including a ferry that was featured in early trailers but was removed from the final version. According to fan analysis, this version of “Grand Theft Auto 4” is still in the internal testing stage of early development, and even half of the radio content is different from the final version. Not only that, but players also discovered a “zombie mode” that was eventually abandoned, as well as early versions of cutscenes. The overall configuration of the game stage “Liberty City” is very close to the final version, suggesting that the Rockstar Games team may have designed the overall outline of the city first, and then made detailed adjustments to the streets and buildings.

Ya lograron meter varios assets de la beta de GTA IV dentro del juego:

This content will give fans something to do while waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6. This sequel is currently expected to be released on this generation of consoles on November 19, and Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two, recently hinted that the marketing campaign for “Grand Theft Auto 6” will officially launch this summer and enter a full promotion period.

As for the price, it is still one of the hottest topics at the moment. Many media and analysis companies have speculated that Rockstar Games may increase the price of “Grand Theft Auto 6” to $100. However, there has been no official official response to this news. However, Zelnick has clearly denied the rumor that “Grand Theft Auto 6” will be digitally limited at launch.
