South Korean game developer Pearl Abyss released version 1.03.000 update for its open-world action RPG “Crimson Desert” on April 11, 2026. The most important highlight of this update is that the game officially supports Intel Arc series graphics cards, and simultaneously adds XeSS 3.0 super-resolution sampling technology and XeSS Frame Generation function, which greatly enhances the game performance and image quality experience for players with Intel graphics cards.

After 23 days on the market, the gap is finally filled: Intel Arc graphics card support

“Red Desert” will be officially released on March 19, 2026, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Mac platforms. Less than a month after the game was released, Twitch viewing time has exceeded 27.3 million hours, sales have exceeded 4 million units, and reviews from Steam players have gradually turned from initial controversy to positive. However, at the initial stage of release, the game did not support Intel Arc graphics cards, and the official even required players toRefund and don’t play, which sparked heated discussions in the community when it was listed.

Pearl Abyss in this time 1.03.000 renewChina has finally filled this gap and officially provided full support for the Intel Arc series of graphics cards. The development team promises to continue to optimize the compatibility and performance of various Intel graphics cards in the future.

XeSS 3.0 + Frame Generation: Performance Liberation on Intel Platforms

In addition to basic graphics card support, “Red Desert” also adds XeSS 3.0 super-resolution sampling technology and XeSS frame generation options in the settings menu. XeSS is an AI-driven super-resolution solution developed by Intel. It is similar in function to NVIDIA’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR. It uses AI algorithms to reconstruct high-resolution effects from lower-resolution images, greatly increasing the frame rate while maintaining visual quality.

XeSS frame generation technology can further insert AI-generated transition frames between intermediate frames, significantly improving overall smoothness. The combination of these two technologies is expected to bring significant performance gains for gamers using Intel Arc graphics cards.

Arc A series display abnormality List of known issues

However, currently Intel Arc A series graphics cards may experience abnormal image output when XeSS 3.0 or XeSS frame generation is enabled. More specifically: Arc A770 users may experience game crashes when opening XeSS; Arc A750 users may experience crashes in the Hernand city scene. It is recommended that players who encounter problems first turn off XeSS related options and wait for subsequent updates to correct them.

Synchronous updates to console platforms: PS5 enhances ray tracing, PS5 Pro adds PSSR clarity

This update isn’t just for PC players, either. Pearl Abyss has added an “Enhanced Ray Tracing” option to the “Settings > Video” menu on the PS5 standard version and Xbox Series

AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 + DLSS-RR Fix

In terms of display technology optimization, version 1.03.000 also adds AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 low-latency technology, which helps reduce the delay between input and screen display, which is a great boon for players who value response speed. At the same time, the team also fixed the problem of noise spots appearing in the screen distortion effect after NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction is turned on.

Improved stability, weapon appearance display, font size adjustable

In addition to display technology updates, this Patch also has many updates in terms of content and system. The development team stated that the overall stability of the game on PC, Mac and console platforms has been improved, and some error reporting issues have been fixed.

In terms of the operating interface, this update adds “weapon appearance display options” and “font size adjustment options”. Players can freely adjust the font size in the game; each character also has new skills; the teleportation mechanism has also been optimized.

It’s late, but it’s a sincere update.

“Red Desert” encountered many technical problems at the beginning of its release, including unstable frame rate performance and a serious lack of support for Intel graphics cards (mainly because of its attitude that dissatisfied players. Intel also said that it invested a lot of resources to assist the team from the early stages of game development. Unexpectedly, it was such a response at the time). These problems caused some players to complain. This 1.03.000 update shows that Pearl Abyss is actively responding to community feedback: not only filling the Intel Arc gap, but also bringing a complete technology stack such as XeSS 3.0 and frame generation at once, instead of just “limited support”. For a game that has been on the market for less than a month, the pace of repairs and updates are quite timely. Of course, the current XeSS anomaly problem in the Arc A series is still an unsolved project, and we hope that subsequent patches can fix it as soon as possible.
