But it’s not always good news. He recently shared a discovery on the social platform X: the Start menu ultimately can’t escape Copilot’s infiltration. Microsoft is developing an update that will cleverly let you use Copilot in the Start menu.

In the screenshot provided by PhantomOfEarth, the Start menu asks you to try Copilot to draft content, explore topics, and ask work-related questions. The suggestion seems to be asking if you want to draft in two different ways. Given that Microsoft is going all-in on Copilot, it’s not surprising to see this change. Microsoft has invested significant time and money into its AI ambitions, so they view the entire Windows user base as potential Copilot Pro subscribers to help offset those costs.
On various forums, there doesn’t seem to be many people praising Copilot yet; usually, the one people talk about more is ChatGPT. However, this won’t become a stumbling block for Microsoft. If you’re a long-time Windows user, be prepared for future Copilot ads, recommendations, and tools, as the company will try to demonstrate its value to you, hoping you’ll pay for a subscription to get more features.
