The two new agents, Researcher and Analyst, appear poised to benefit professionals in various roles, including researchers, strategic planners, data analysts and scientists, marketing teams, and any users who simply want to quickly summarize or synthesize information.

Can help you handle multi-step research in your work, helping you gather insights, prepare for negotiations, and assess the impact of tariffs on businesses, among other things. The Researcher agent spends a significant amount of time thinking through its answers, making it more accurate than other agents.

Analyst
Can be used to convert raw data into actionable insights, identify customer behavior, and transform data into visualized trend presentations. The Analyst agent allows users to see the steps and the Python code it executes, which is beneficial for improving transparency and can help identify errors when the agent’s reasoning starts to go wrong.
This is both good and bad news. Microsoft has indeed implemented some restrictions to ensure reliable service for all users. Inin the blogMicrosoft explained that the two agents can run a maximum of 25 combined queries per month in total. Additionally, Researcher supports 37 languages, but Analyst only supports 8 languages, with more language support to come in the future.
AI agents have been trending since late 2024, when data from major tech companies showed that 2025 would be a big year for agentic AI. These agents can handle multi-step tasks, bringing people closer to the goal of artificial general intelligence (AGI). Thanks to developments in OpenAI’s deep research model and o3-mini, the agents Microsoft is now rolling out have become possible.
