All along,Google None of it has been definitively announced. Gemini The usage limits of the free version make it feel like you might not need to upgrade, since most features are available on the free tier and it’s unclear how much more usage you’d actually get. Recently, Google finally released the full details, so if you’re considering whether to upgrade, there are now numbers to refer to.

Google finally reveals the usage limit differences between the free version of Gemini and the paid AI version.
Google currently offers two paid AI plans: “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra,” priced at NT$650/month and NT$8,150/month respectively, with annual billing being cheaper. Compared to the free version, Gemini not only gives you higher usage quotas for Gemini 2.5 Pro, but also a significantly larger number of image generations for the latest Nano Banana, plus Veo 3’s video generation feature (unavailable in the free version).
Here are the current quotas for the free and paid versions of Gemini.
Gemini free version:
- Gemini 2.5 Pro up to 5 prompts per day
- Gemini 2.5 Flash has no limits
- The context window size is 32,000.
- Up to 20 voice summaries per day.
- You can generate a maximum of 5 “deep research” reports per month using Gemini 2.5 Flash.
- Generate up to 100 images per day

Google AI Ultra’s Gemini:
- Gemini 2.5 Pro up to 500 prompts per day
- Gemini 2.5 Flash has no restrictions.
- The context window size is 1 million.
- Up to 20 voice summaries per day
- You can generate up to 200 ‘deep research’ reports per day using Gemini 2.5 Pro.

- Generate up to 1,000 images per day.
- 2.5 Deep Think Limited Usage Permissions
- You can generate up to 5 videos per day with Veo 3 Fast (preview).
- Priority access to certain new features

Overall, the Gemini free version and paid version only share two things: “unlimited Gemini 2.5 Flash” and “up to 20 voice summaries per day.” Everything else differs, especially the context window size, which is a huge difference—and that alone makes upgrading to Google AI’s paid plan well worth it.
In addition to Gemini, Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra also provide access to advanced features and higher limits in other Google tools, such as higher usage in NotebookLM, the ability to use Gemini in Gmail and Google Docs, and not to mention cloud storage increased to over 2TB.

Compared to competitors like OpenAI and Claude, Google’s paid plans are really great value.
