There has been a lot of news about new hardware components recently, and AMD will naturally not be absent. The most curious one at this stage is the Ryzen 8000 processor. It is said that this generation will be a processor that includes AMD iGPU across the board. Since AMD has been operating in the consumer market with pure CPUs in the past, APUs containing iGPU are positioned in mid- to low-end models. Therefore, this generation may have a CPU that is equivalent to or better than the previous generation of mainstream consumer processors, and add AMD iGPU to form an AA connection. Interestingly, the latest to help expose information about the new processor is the media from Saudi Arabia. According to reports, the Ryzen 8000 series is expected to have more than 10 SKUs and use a mix of Phoenix 1 and Phoenix 2, and the running scores look very impressive.

Although AMD once paid attention to the performance of APU in the past, there are other Ryzen processors on the player side, so the APU seems somewhat dispensable. However, for some players whose budgets are temporarily limited, or when graphics cards are hard to buy due to the mining boom like in recent years, internal graphics will immediately become a favorite among gamers. The new Ryzen 8000 series regains the APU design, perhaps also intentionally promoting its excellent iGPU, and thereby giving its products more selling points to talk about.

Ryzen 8000 exposed, new APU performance is much faster than the previous generation

Saudi Arabian media Sakhtafzar Mag has leaked a lot of information about the Ryzen 8000 APU. Compared with the previous Ryzen 5000G, the new generation of Ryzen 8000 has made considerable progress in graphics performance. For users who still use 1080p screens, the progress of this generation is equivalent to making the internal display performance more similar to mid-to-low-end graphics cards a few years ago. Even though it is difficult to compete with independent graphics cards at higher resolutions, for entry-level or business computer users, this increase in graphics performance is a surprise. In a few cases, a GPU is required. In an accelerated environment, its value can be better exerted.

Judging from the exposed running score comparison chart, the new APU is 200% faster than its previous generation products in some games such as “Doom: Eternal” and “Cyberpunk 2077”, which is a huge leap forward in performance. Some games such as “Tomb Raider: Shadow” and “World of Tanks” also have moderate growth rates of about 100%. Of course, for iGPU to run fast, it is closely related to the system memory speed. The Ryzen 8000 series can use DDR5 memory, while the previous generation platform still uses DDR4, so there is a significant difference in performance.

Sakhtafzar Mag believes that the new chip will be announced on January 31st, followed by February 11th. In addition to these AM5 APUs, AMD has not forgotten the AM4 platform. It is said that the new processor of the AM4 platform will be called Ryzen 7 5700X3D. It is easy to understand from the model that this is the X3D series of processors recently launched by AMD for gamers. It is understood that the R7 5700X3D may compete with Intel’s Core i5 13600K and Core i5 14600K. In terms of price, the 5700X3D using the AM4 platform may be more competitive, but in terms of actual performance, which one to choose requires consumers to collect more information and compare before purchasing. The 5700X3D has the core architecture of the 8C16T, but at lower clock speeds than the 5800X3D that has been around for a while.

In addition, Sakhtafzar Mag also mentioned Ryzen 5 5600GT, Ryzen 5 5500GT and Ryzen 7 5700NPU and other new processors with strange names suffixed, but these did not mention further details, which may not necessarily have deeper meanings for AMD.
