Recently, well-known German media PCGamesHardware The forum moderator Pockerclock was the first to disclose the news. They contacted two German suppliers based on reliable sources. They confirmed that Intel mentioned the price increase in a letter. The content stated that this increase is not only for future CPU processors, but also includes processors currently in stock or being discounted. This means that Alder Lake, Raptor Lake, and Raptor Lake Refresh, which is expected to be launched in a few months, will become more expensive.
Intel did not say the reason for the increase. Raw materials have fallen back and are no longer as expensive as in previous years, so it should not be this. Therefore, PCGamesHardware said that this may be related to Intel’s plan to build semiconductor facilities around the world, especially in eastern Germany.
Wccftech reported that Intel is currently building a 17 billion euro chip factory in Magdeburg, eastern Germany. However, the factory is currently hampered by a lack of financing, but the local government refuses to grant any additional subsidies.
