The newly designed Google Home app has started to be rolled out, and you will know what changes have been made in this article!

Following the preview version at the end of last year, the official version of the Google Home app with a fresh design was also announced to be rolled out to users around the world on May 11.

In order to correspond with the growth rate of smart products that Google previously shared, there are an average of 25 connected devices in each American household. The evolved Google Home app includes a new pagination design for Favorites, Devices, Automations, Activities, and Settings, making it easier for users with a large number of devices to manage their home environment.

Not only are the interface designs adjusted for everyone’s “Home app” – the new media playback menu and monitor’s timeline interface are really cool! Make more effective use of the device flexibility of the Internet of Things and redefine “space” to allow users to connect products that may not necessarily be in the same space, and to arrange all devices alphabetically. There are even features such as a script editor for advanced users.

Extending from the screen of a smartphone up and down – not only can the advantages of this revision be used in the tablet interface, but also Home app-related functions will be provided for users of Wear OS smart watches.

Last year, Google introduced that the camera interface would have a new UI that could scroll vertically between recorded events, with newer surveillance recordings at the top. Nest cameras will automatically tag recorded events as people, packages, vehicles, activities or animals, and this new interface will be available for the latest Nest cameras and doorbells. Support for traditional Nest cameras has been teased.

This new version of the Home app not only officially extends the life of the old Nest monitor and adds hardware and software support – it even claims to run faster than before. It is also confirmed that the new generation standard Matter has been added to the iOS version. I wonder if you have received this new version? If there is anything you are not used to, you can share it with our Computer King Ada team.
