Both AMD and NVIDIA now have their own unique technologies to improve game performance and image quality. Many people will be curious about whether AMD’s FSR is stronger? Or is NVIDIA’s DLSS more powerful? Recently, a foreign YouTuber conducted a battle between AMD FSR2 and NVIDIA DLSS2. A total of 26 games were tested, which is a very large number. What is surprising is that AMD did not win any of them, and NVIDIA won a big victory.

Recently, the well-known foreign YouTube channel Hardware Unboxed shared a video of “DLSS 2 vs. AMD’s FSR 2”, testing a total of 26 games. It is worth noting that Hardware Unboxed stated that the performance provided by these two enhancement technologies is almost the same, so this video mainly focuses on picture quality rather than FPS. The resolution is set to 4K and 1440K, and no DLL module is used, allowing everyone to directly feel the out-of-the-box feeling:

26 games are a bit too much to test, so Hardware Unboxed did not put the test screens of every game. There are only a few well-known ones, namely “The Last of Us™ Part I”, “The Cursed Land”, “Death of the Dead”, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 2022”, “Fast: Untamed”, “Hogwarts Legacy”, “Dying Light 2” “The War between Man and Humanity”, “Spider-Man”, and “Cyberpunk 2077”, you can see the comparison between the two technologies in the film:

The scoring method Hardware Unboxed divides AMD FSR2 and NVIDIA DLSS2 into 3 levels, such as: FSR+, DLSS+. The + behind represents the strength of beating the opponent. If it is DLSS++, it means it beats FSR by a lot. The gap between DLSS+++ is even greater. In case of a tie, Tie is used, which means that any technology can be used, there is no difference:

The picture below shows the test results of 26 games. Surprisingly, we did not see any FSR words. Almost 90% of them were DLSS. DLSS can be said to have won a big victory. Of course, there are still moments of ties, especially at 4K resolution settings, where 5 games are tied for FSR and DLSS, 3 are tied for 4K Performance settings, and 5 are tied for 4K Quality settings:

It can also be noticed that the advantages of DLSS are more obvious in the 1440 Performance setting. More than 2/3 of the 26 games are DLSS+++.
Although AMD FSR lost in this actual test, in terms of support alone, FSR is still better. AMD’s entry-level to high-end graphics cards all have FSR, while NVIDIA only supports DLSS in the RTX series, so everything still depends on the player’s budget.
