Google Gemini image editing features are coming soon: supports background replacement and object swapping
Google announced today that it is testing new image editing features in Gemini, and in the future, users will be able to directly use Gemini to change backgrounds, swap objects, and more. Google also stated that it will provide the image editing service to all Gemini users once it is confirmed to be fully functional.
Back in March this year, Google already opened up Gemini Image Editing for everyone to try on Google AI Studio, and we covered it before. Although it is currently possible to use Gemini to generate images and add content, consistency in image content cannot be guaranteed, so it is clear that image editing capabilities are not yet available on Gemini.

Google says it will roll out Gemini’s image editing feature to most countries/regions in more than 45 languages in the coming weeks. Based on previous test results, Chinese prompts should also support image editing. Gemini will also become another AI assistant that can use image editing, following Grok and ChatGPT.
