The GPU market is cold enough, and GPU graphics cards are sold by the kilogram on the streets of Vietnam.

A year later, no one could have imagined that the GPU graphics card market would change so much. Last year and the year before last, it was basically impossible to buy a graphics card at the original price, but after this year, no one wants to buy it even at the original price. This has also caused the price of GPU graphics cards to fall for a while, and some graphics cards even show signs of bottoming out. Even so, the GPU market is still very deserted, especially second-hand graphics cards. Recently, there is a strange scene on the streets of Vietnam. Some people are selling second-hand graphics cards as roadside stalls, and they are still calculated by kilograms, just like selling vegetables.

The GPU market is cold enough, and GPU graphics cards are sold by the kilogram on the streets of Vietnam.

According to foreign media Tom’s Hardware, a Lê Thành user in Vietnam shared photos on Facebook of setting up a roadside stall to sell GPU graphics cards. From this user’s Facebook dynamic wall, it is obvious that they have a lot of GPU graphics cards in their store. Perhaps because they cannot sell them well, they came up with this method. They put 3 to 5 different graphics cards on the ground, and stacked them in a row of the same model. Moreover, the pricing method is not by single card, but by kilogram:

The number of graphics cards is really amazing. Not surprisingly, they should all be mining cards:

They also filmed a video imitating a food stall and selling vegetables. The seller held a fly-catching tool to prevent flies from staying on top of the graphics card. Then a buyer came on a motorcycle. The seller introduced the price of each graphics card model in order. After the buyer decided which one to buy, he put the graphics card on an electronic scale to weigh it, and finally put it in a plastic bag for the buyer to take away:

Of course, this video may be purely funny, and it is uncertain whether it is true or not, but it is a fact that the current supply of second-hand GPU graphics cards is oversupplied. A large number of mining cards are pouring in, but not so many people are buying them. Regarding graphics cards being sold as roadside stalls, a similar situation has happened in China before, so it is not surprising that the same situation is also in Vietnam. After all, Vietnam has always had many miners.

In June, there were many live broadcasts of auctions of second-hand graphics cards in China:

With the Ethereum merger, Ethereum mining has become a thing of the past, and for many miners,These are extremely dark days for GPU mining, a lot of equipment is idling, and the more they dig, the more money they lose, and they can’t even make any money. This has also led many people to simply stop the machine or sell it. Even though there are many cryptocurrency options now, none of them are as valuable as Ethereum:

In addition, in recent financial reports, various GPU graphics card manufacturers also revealed that market demand has cooled significantly, and they are very pessimistic about the next few months. The reason is simply that no one is mining anymore. NVIDIA even in the latest driver,Directly unlock the LHR display card that was originally advertised as locking computing power, allowing miners to obtain full computing power:

For players, this kind of news is undoubtedly good news. The representative said that graphics cards will never be as expensive and difficult to buy as they were two years ago. Instead, they are now cheap and easy to buy. Just be careful not to buy mining cards unless you really want to gamble and see your luck.

Compared with the RTX 30 series, the performance of the new generation RTX 40 series has indeed improved significantly. However, the RTX 30 has dropped like this. In terms of price, I think the CP value is still higher. If you really want to buy the RTX 40 series, I would recommend waiting until next year to consider it.
