WSJ: iPhone will support car accident detection and automatic alarm function

Regarding the attempt of the “car” ecosystem as a second living room for human beings, news has spread recently that Apple hopes to integrate more deeply with vehicles through the CarPlay ecosystem. Maybe they were in the rumored “Apple Car” or even “IronHeart“Before planning, there are still some good functions that can be directly implemented with existing devices that are worthy of development.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the car accident detection automatic alarm function that has been previously launched in the Android system seems to be that Apple is also preparing to provide similar functions in the system used by Apple Watch and even iPhone. In short, through technologies such as fall detection, it is possible to extend the accident emergency alarm function that supports violent vibrations while driving.

In fact, the automatic alarm function in the event of a major collision is not a new feature on many vehicles – we recently wrote about a case where customer service took the initiative to care and call the police after a Tesla was hit and rolled over at high speed. If it can be provided on mobile devices, it may be able to further support more vehicles (after all, not every vehicle has this function), or even serve as a backup solution.

According to reports, such a function should be expected to be seen next year – I wonder who will debut in Taiwan sooner than the Android version?
