whether throughOur full Pixel 5 testOr maybe it’s from a YouTube channelIn-depth teardown, everyone should have a deeper understanding of the manufacturing process and related technologies of this Google flagship smartphone – what many people are paying attention to should be the magical support of the metal back cover that can still support wireless charging. In addition, the newly added reverse wireless charging is the focus of many people’s attention. Now, Google has shared the intimate details of this feature through a video, and it turns out that Pixel 5 can automatically transform into a wireless charging stand during wired charging!

Pixel 5 knows how to automatically transform into a wireless charging stand during wired charging (so thoughtful)
In our full Pixel 5 test, the 12W “battery sharing” reverse wireless charging that we have tried is really a very convenient feature. It allows Pixel users to use power sharing to charge accessories or even other phones for emergency charging at any time. But what I didn’t expect was that Google actually provided a hidden feature that was not mentioned in the options.

According to the wireless charging function demonstration video shared by Google on YouTube, there is a slight mention of more thoughtful smart functions besides manually activating it in the toolbar and activating battery sharing through setting options. That is, Pixel 5 will automatically activate the reverse wireless charging function of battery sharing when it is plugged in to USB-C for charging. Frankly speaking, although people may not often use Pixel 5 as a wireless charging pad, this should lessen the risk of reverse charging becoming a function that “I would turn it on when I first bought it, but later I was too lazy to turn it on because it was too troublesome.”

This automatic function will not be stupid enough to leave it on all the time because it has nothing to charge. According to official information, the automatic battery sharing function will quickly detect whether there is a Qi device ready to be charged when plugged in; if not, the reverse wireless charging function of battery sharing will be automatically turned off. This kind of use experience must be an important reason why many people love Google Pixel phones.
