Always forget to turn off the alarm clock during holidays? Pixel Feature Drop’s new feature will save you scarce sleep time

in Android App Sharing Introduction

After working hard for several days in class/work, it is rare to have a national holiday other than the weekend to rest. I believe everyone will want to make the most of their trip, or simply have a good night’s sleep! But I don’t know if you all feel the same way, that is, you have a great holiday to take advantage of, but often a “small mistake” may lead to lack of sleep and make you unhappy from the beginning. I just fall asleep with a happy mood, but I don’t notice that I forget to turn off the alarm clock on my mobile phone during work/school. Seriously, this is probably more annoying than forgetting to set the alarm clock at work (holding my head).

Fortunately, this situation has been noticed by the considerate Google, and it was discovered that it has released considerate new features (although it should be better). Always forget to turn off the alarm clock during holidays? Pixel Feature Drop’s new feature will save you scarce sleep time

With the previous Feature Drop, Android features exclusive to Pixel phones get early access to the update. More and more users are starting to receive feature surprises from Google outside of the update list – or should I say, “holiday” surprises. Recently, a user from Reddit discovered that his Pixel phone received a thoughtful notification reminder from Google Assistant/Google Smart Voice Assistant before the holidays.

This notice is not a recommendation for where you should go. Google Smart Voice Assistant not only informed the user that tomorrow was a holiday through a notification, but also further let the user know that an alarm clock was actually set for 9:30 the next morning. It is a thoughtful reminder to users that if they have no schedule for the next day, they can confirm whether they still need such an alarm reminder. This notification will also prompt that once clicked, it will jump to the alarm clock application for you to set.

I have to say, this is really a very thoughtful feature. It is said that this is likely to be a feature that will be available in March for the Pixel 3a and up to the current Pixel 6 series models. But it seems a bit strange to talk about such a model with limited functions? After all, that’s what the Google Assistant’s At a Glance widget update should be delivering. However, it may need to be linked with calendar (and alarm clock) related information to give this thoughtful reminder, so it has yet to be unlocked.

That is to say, this function currently only guides you to the alarm clock application page. Some people think that Google can also go one step further and provide an alarm clock setting option that can “skip a single time” (it seems that Xiaomi MIUI has it? It is quite considerate), so as to avoid the dilemma of forgetting to turn on the alarm when you really have to go to work – Google Smart Voice Assistant will not remind you again “you have to go to work tomorrow, remember to set the alarm” XD?
