According to reports, iOS, which originally could only report spam contact information to Apple, will be able to support a mechanism for returning this information to telecom operators in the iOS 16 beta version. In short, in the future, perhaps through everyone’s enthusiastic feedback, the sender can be more effective in blocking these possible sources of fraudulent text messages for non-users.
This feature is currently not only limited to the iOS 16 Beta 2 system, but also requires support from telecom operators to enable this feature. In fact, on Apple’s official page for blocking scams or spam messages, it has previously stated that “To report scams or spam messages you received using SMS or MMS, please contact your telecommunications provider.” Although you can see operators in Taiwan from the list, there is currently no reporting service for blocked messages.in。
In fact, this function is a bit similar to voicemail, because each operator’s report callback mechanism and number may be different. Apple should want to integrate this experience through system functions this time, so maybe there will be relevant support updates after this function is officially launched in the future?
For users who have dual physical SIM cards or use iPhone with eSIM, this iOS test version has also expanded the total number of text message classification functions to 12 categories, and additionally provides message filter options for dual SIM cards. It will make it easier for you to confirm and distinguish messages from different phone numbers. You no longer need to keep looking for detailed information to confirm which number the other party sent the message to.
There is another update for mobile networks, that is, the iCloud backup function is also confirmed to support “all” LTE or 5G mobile networks – eh… In fact, the editor has been using it for a long time, and I don’t know that this is a function that can be activated only under certain conditions.
