The currency circle has been very miserable recently. Bitcoin and Ethereum dropped sharply last weekend, and many people liquidated their positions. Perhaps because of this, the price of graphics cards has changed dramatically in recent weeks, especially in stores like eBay. Most graphics cards are sold for less than the recommended selling price. It seems that many miners and scalpers have begun to stop their losses.

Bitcoin and Ethereum have collapsed, and graphics card prices have also seen drastic changes in the past few weeks.
Since the beginning of this year, the price of graphics cards has begun to fall, and the rate of decline is quite fast. From the current point of view, it seems that this situation will intensify.
Recently, foreign media Tom’s Hardware released a report on graphics card price tracking. They compared the prices on June 1 and June 15 and found that drastic changes occurred in just half a month.
The first is retailers. Although the decline rate of retailers is not as severe as eBay’s second-hand market, the average decline is 2%. Some of NVIDIA’s products are already the same as the recommended selling price, and some are getting closer. AMD is in a worse situation, with almost all of them selling cheaper than the recommended selling price.
The NVIDIA RTX 3070 series fell the most, both -7%, but the RTX 3080 12GB still rose. At present, the price of most RTX 30 series retailers is still more expensive than the MSRP suggested selling price, but it is not much more expensive. Judging from the downward trend, there should be a chance to see the price return to the MSRP in a few weeks without any surprise:

Although AMD’s decline is not huge, it can be seen that almost all RX 6000 series graphics cards have returned to MSRP or are sold cheaper. Therefore, in terms of CP value, the RX 6000 series will now be more cost-effective than NVIDIA, but you must give up support functions such as ray tracing and DLSS:

Next is the eBay second-hand market. Compared with the previous two weeks, the average price dropped by up to 10%. This fluctuation is quite large, and even the NVIDIA RTX 30 series is already cheaper than MSRP.
Among the RTX 30 series, the RTX 3060 Ti has fallen the most, falling 19% in just two weeks. It cost 579 US dollars to buy on 6/1, and now it is 425 US dollars, which is about 150 US dollars cheaper. Although second-hand prices are very attractive now, we do not recommend buying second-hand graphics cards, because many of them are removed from mining machines, and you have no idea that they have gone through a lot of mining processes:

The AMD RX 6000 series is no exception. The one that has fallen the most is the RX 6950 XT, which has dropped by 21%. It was originally $1,600 on June 1st, but now it is $1,200, which is $400 less. This is really exaggerated. People who bought it at the beginning of the month must want to cry:

With the next generation of RTX 40-series and RX 7000-series graphics cards expected to launch later this year, even if the cryptocurrency stops falling as hard, prices will have a hard time recovering and there’s a high chance they’ll only get cheaper.
Tom’s Hardware also mentioned that this downward trend is not limited to eBay and US pricing. European and Asian markets are no exception. Just look at it and you will find that prices continue to drop.
