The bug, which was discovered in early February, is said to have been discovered after a routine update for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Originally, it was an update mainly to fix some security vulnerabilities and fix the bug where the keyboard may freeze text. However, due to unknown reasons, many foreign forums and Google official support forums reported that Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro users encountered abnormal Wi-Fi conditions.
According to a user’s description, after installing the February update on his Pixel 6 Pro, WiFi cannot be turned on. Even if you try to restart the phone, it temporarily works, but when you enter the lock screen and leave it for a while, you can’t open it after unlocking – unless you restart the phone again, this annoying situation will continue to repeat; some users not only encounter the problem that the WI-Fi can only stay connected for a few minutes, but also have the problem that even the tablecloth will revert to the default color.
This problem was discovered after the February update of Pixel. By the end of that month, Google had responded to the official support forum, confirming the root cause of the Wi-Fi connection problem and stating that only a “very small number of devices” would be affected. The Pixel development team is already working on fixes and aiming to deliver them in a March update.
Before the update arrived, it was said that some users tried to follow Google’s official recommendations and completely reset their phones to try to solve the problem. However, it is said that even so, it only lasted for a while before the wireless network shut down again; some media suggested that it could be solved by resetting the network settings or deleting and re-adding Wi-Fi.
