Google AI smart assistant’s next step is very “science fiction” — it will automatically execute tasks for you.
According to Wikipedia, Edwin Jarvis is a character in the Marvel Comics series Iron Man, serving as the butler for Howard Stark and his son Tony. This name later becomes the artificial intelligence computer J.A.R.V.I.S. used by Iron Man in subsequent stories.
Interestingly, somewhat similar to the naming logic of modern-day Iron Man Elon Musk, in the Marvel stories, J.A.R.V.I.S.’s full name isJust A Rather Very Intelligent System。
But now it seems that Google, which is “very Google” or “just Google” when it comes to naming colors for Pixel devices, is also very interested in this assistant name. It was previously revealed that they have been developing an automated AI feature called Project Jarvis.

Those who had installed the app early also found that the Jarvis AI assistant extension couldn’t work properly due to permission issues.
In short, this is likely a situation where Google accidentally released something during internal testing (though it’s hard to say whether it was intentional).

Although it cannot be used and has long been removed from the shelves, this application and related information released by the official source have essentially confirmed that the previous reports from foreign media about Project Jarvis are highly credible. According to earlier reports, the official release of this feature was slated for December of this year – but after this leak, it is difficult to say whether the timeline will change.

Based on previous information, the main function of the Jarvis assistant will be to help users perform operations such as browsing, shopping, and ticket booking with greater automation – possibly extending from existing specialized services including Google Search and Google Flights to provide more proactive automatic features. However, the report also mentioned that Google may provide AI assistant support through a screenshot analysis approach similar to Microsoft’s highly controversial Recall, which has raised some concerns.
That said, I personally think Google already has too many AI assistants. Instead of constantly changing names, wouldn’t it be more practical to just do one well? Although Jarvis is indeed a really cool name (for the record: I’d normally reject it, but I think it’s cool).
