Mozilla, the parent company of Firefox, one of the three most popular browsers, recently announced that it will end support for its service Firefox Lockwise password manager next month. Although the application can still be used, it will no longer provide new downloads for users and will not receive any updates. If you also use this application service, you should prepare early.

Mozilla’s new feature experimental program is mainly to test various new features before deciding whether to integrate them into its Firefox browser. As part of it, Firefox Lockwise was launched in 2018 and can be installed on Android, iOS and desktop. Like other password managers, Firefox Lockwise allows users to check all credentials stored in the Firefox browser.

With the evolution of technology, most of the features of Firefox Lockwise have been integrated into the Firefox browser, so Firefox Lockwise support on Android and iOS will cease from December 13, 2021, and users will no longer be able to download and install it from the App Store and Google Play Store. Users who have already installed it on their phones can still use it, but they will no longer receive support and security updates.

Users can still see the login data you have stored in Firefox Lockwise, but Mozilla recommends that you transfer the data to the built-in password manager of the Firefox browser and use the latest security protection to protect your login information. After December 13, the application will be completely removed from the app stores of the two major platforms.
