Everyone recently bought Google The latest flagship phone Pixel 6/Pixel 6 Pro Already? If you have also come straight up from the Pixel series, and you usually use health-related functions quite often. I don’t know if you have noticed that the heart rate and respiration tracking functions that were first launched on Pixel 5 seem to be hard to find on this new flagship with Tensor Google’s self-developed chip. However, if you encounter such a situation, you are not alone. Continue reading Whether your Pixel 6 has built-in heart rate measurement seems to depend on the Google Mood (?) report.

Whether your Pixel 6 has built-in heart rate measurement seems to depend on Google’s mood (?)

According to foreign media reports, the heart rate detection function, which was already a common function on other Pixel models, is now either missing on the Pixel 6 series or marked as an “Early access” preemptive test version – in fact, some people just pretend that nothing has happened and can use it directly without marking it. Then the breath detection function is marked as an experimental function.

Because this function relies heavily on the camera system and flash to use it. Therefore, it is speculated that this situation is likely due to the “goggle-shaped” main camera module of the Pixel 6 series, which has undergone major changes compared to the previous design – the distance between the lens group and the flash is very far. This is caused by errors in the function of observing finger color changes through the lens.

Foreign media 9to5Google’s tests under different light and dark conditions also found that in a relatively dark environment, the Pixel 6, which can use a heart rate meter, does have an error of about 30 heartbeats per minute; in a normal illumination environment, it is close to the values of the Pixel 5 and Fitbit devices.

So to put it simply, after the hardware change, it may take a while for Google to get the best performance of this feature on the new generation camera system, right? Although the built-in health detection function is mainly for reference. But until Google really figures out this feature, I suggest that you really use it as a reference. This is the same thing (what a twist XD). But on the other hand, it also depends on whether Google is willing to let more people use it from the server side…
