Instead of making the battery protection mechanism a function, Google has introduced a built-in function of “optimizing for battery health” for models after Pixel 3 (currently Pixel 5, and the next Pixel 6 will also follow it, right?).

From the literal meaning, it can be understood that it is basically consistent with the functional purpose of most battery maintenance at this stage. It’s just that Google doesn’t provide additional switches. So at this stage, this restriction mechanism will be forcibly activated as long as the conditions are met. As for when it will start? According to the official statement, there are two conditions:
· In highly power-consuming situations such as gaming
· Charging continuously for more than 4 days

Once satisfied, the battery will be limited to charge to 80%, and a prompt will be displayed on the AOD that optimized battery health has been activated. If you want to interrupt this mechanism, you can first unplug the power cord or remove the Pixel Stand wireless charging stand. Or restart it and wait for about 10 minutes, and it should be able to charge to 100%.
