Android 12, which is still in testing, has reached the third version. Google has added a new option called “Enable face detection” to the automatic rotation function in the screen function. As its name suggests, this feature will detect the direction of your face through the front-facing video lens, thereby providing more accurate screen orientation detection and making the automatic rotation function more useful.

According to the testing of this function by foreign media who have installed this beta version, they feel that the automatic rotation seems to be more responsive and faster. Regarding privacy issues, Google also mentioned below this option that images automatically selected for detection will not be stored or transmitted back to Google. But if you are worried, you can also turn off this function. And it seems that due to security reasons, it is reported that this new feature will require phones above Pixel 4 to be used, but older models still seem to have corrections to reduce rotation delay (looking at the Pixel 3 XL in the editor’s hand… I feel QQ).
