See Apple in iPhone 12 seriesThe Dolby Vision HDR mentioned at the press conference provides comprehensive support for shooting/displaying/editing/sharing. I thought, Huh? Is it possible that iMovie has silently updated its support for HDR? Actually, not “yet”. But just in time for the iPhone 12 series to officially go on sale, this update has also arrived, providing real-time support for the HDR video editing function of your newly purchased phone. That is to say, this update will probably mark a performance divide between the old and new generations of devices for Apple – come and see if your old machine is on the list. In addition to Hi Speed, another key project of the latest iPhone should be the comprehensive support for Dolby Vision HDR videos from creation to editing to sharing and appreciation (Hi! Dolby Vision!). Now, when consumers receive the latest iPhone 12, the function of editing with iMovie is implemented through updates, officially opening the movie studio on the handheld.

This update not only supports the latest iPhone 12, but even older models can also support editing after this update. To support editing and sharing HDR video functions, you will need at least iPhone SE (second generation), iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X and iPad (fifth generation), iPad (seventh generation), iPad Air 3, 10.5-inch iPad Pro or later models.

Apple has also added relevant support restrictions for 4K 60fps video editing, which will require at least an iPod Touch (seventh generation), iPhone SE (second generation), iPhone 7, iPad (sixth generation), iPad mini (fifth generation), iPad Air 3, 10.5-inch iPad Pro or later models. It has to be said that although Apple devices (especially iPads) can really last for a long time, video editing applications that require large computing resources are still more demanding on performance.

This iMovie version 2.3 update also brings subtitle-related updates, including the import of “slide-in”, “split” and two-color “color” animated subtitles. And use the intuitive slider to adjust the strength of the applied filter. Are you ready to edit the massive new video content captured on the iPhone 12 series with other devices in your hand? You can launch the App Store to start updating!
