Before doing this, let me remind you that if you really feel uncomfortable seeing notifications on certain websites, we will explain how to manually close them at the bottom of this article. This automatic unsubscription option is said to have been mentioned in Chromium Gerrit and is expected to appear in the Chrome Canary test version soon. In fact, it mainly gives you the opportunity to choose the time period for notification subscription when notifications are allowed. The option is unknown, so I am not sure whether I can choose the length by myself. It is currently known that the default is 90 days. So even if you are disturbed but are too lazy to look for options, the notification will be unsubscribed after three months.
Once this feature is pushed to Chrome Canary, it is said that the old method of launching the test function through Flags will be found. Find the “Push Subscription With Expiration Time” option in the chrome://flags URL, and select Enable to restart the application.
How to manually cancel website notifications
I have to say that in fact, I think Google should better set up notification management and set up similar management methods through the current extension function or the centralized function of the website playing sound effects, so that users can more easily control whether notifications for each website should be turned on or off. The current manual setting method is hidden in “Privacy & Security > Site Settings > Notifications“Within (orEven me) — It’s really a bit deep, especially when you click in and it’s accompanied by a long list… Most people might give up after seeing this page, and simply let notifications continue to interfere with the user experience.
This means that here you can also choose to directly turn off notifications for all websites, or you can turn on “low-intrusion notifications” – the latter description is also “disable websites from displaying notifications”.
