Although the function of paying directly through near-field sensing is really convenient, coupled with Apple Pay’s token technology, it also gives people a more secure feeling than a credit card. However, it is obvious that the public still has a demand for scanning QR Codes to pay – or should I say, only in this way can we have the opportunity to provide more comprehensive payment support. In this regard, Apple seems to be preparing to provide similar Apple Pay functionality in iOS 14. Continue reading Apple Pay seems to be providing QR Code payment function in iOS 14.

Speaking of which, the iOS Wallet application that Apple Pay is classified into actually supports functions similar to QR Code scanning, which can be used to use these coupons on air tickets and other occasions – previously reported inScan code payment method provided by Nanmen Market, which is used to make Apple Pay payments by jumping to the third-party payment webpage. When it comes to integrating QR Code directly into Wallet to pay through Apple Pay, I have never seen such support before. According to the discovery of hidden code in the latest iOS 14 beta 2 by the 9to5Mac website, it also confirms that Apple seems to be preparing to provide an official scan code payment function.

What’s cool is that for this feature, 9to5Mac actually dug out the application description page, which directly displays the Code Payment barcode payment page using QR Code (or even barcode?). It is clearly written that payment is made with Apple Pay through QR Code. After adding this payment method, theoretically it should be able to greatly expand the supported channels for Apple Pay – in addition, 9to5Mac also found that such support may also be integrated with third-party applications through APIs.

That is to say, whether this iOS 14 feature, which was not specifically mentioned during WWDC 2020, is still in preparation or will appear quietly in the future, it should be quite worthy of observation, but it can be seen that Apple Pay is really working hard to become more popular through various methods.
