After much speculation, the Pixel 11 series launch date has finally been confirmed. Like the Pixel 9 and Pixel 10, Google has scheduled this year’s event for August. According to the Made by Google invitation sent to media outlets, the product launch event will be held in New York on August 12, 2026 at 6 PM EDT, which translates to 6 AM on August 13 in Taiwan time. That means after waiting just over a month, the Pixel 11 series will officially debut, and those interested can start preparing their budgets.

Based on the preview images released so far, the Pixel 11 series likely won’t see major design changes.
Although Google’s invitation only mentions “next generation of Pixel” without directly stating the name, since it’s the next generation Pixel, the phone in the image is likely the Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL. The body still features a flat metal frame, and the back retains the distinctive horizontal capsule-shaped camera module that has characterized recent Pixel generations:

This means the Pixel 11 series will look pretty similar to recent generations this year. This actually aligns with the previously leaked CAD renders.
Previous leaks from Android Headlines and OnLeaks mentioned that the Pixel 11 base model might feature narrower screen bezels, while the rear camera bar would adopt a more complete black design. The rumored body dimensions are 152.8 x 72 x 8.5mm, virtually identical to the Pixel 10, suggesting the grip and feel likely won’t change significantly.

The Pro series might see slightly more changes. The Pixel 11 Pro XL renders show narrower screen bezels compared to the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the camera module has also been updated to a single piece of black glass aesthetic. The temperature sensor found on the Pixel 10 Pro series wasn’t visible in the leaked images, leading speculation that Google might repurpose that space for the new Pixel Glow RGB lighting effect.

Pixel Glow is arguably one of the more eye-catching new features rumored for the Pixel 11 Pro this time around.
Android Authority Previously, clues were found in the Pixel Diagnostics app code, where terms like Pixel Glow, PixelLights, Gemini Glow, and Aurora appeared, along with red, green, and blue LED test content. This suggests it might not be a simple white notification light but an RGB LED array that could potentially display notifications, show charging status, and even provide visual feedback when Gemini-related features are activated. However, Google hasn’t officially confirmed any of this, so whether it will actually appear on the Pixel 11 Pro remains to be seen until the launch event.

In terms of other specifications, the Pixel 11 series is rumored to still have four models, namely the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold, all equipped with the Tensor G6 chip. It is reportedly using TSMC’s 2nm process, with the core configuration changing from the previously common 8-core design to a 7-core design, paired with the new Titan M3 security chip, new TPU, and new GXP image signal processor.
The screen, meanwhile, receives a minor upgrade, according to sources:
- The Pixel 11 base model still features a 6.3-inch OLED display with 1080 x 2424 resolution and 60-120Hz refresh rate, but peak brightness has been slightly increased from the Pixel 10’s 3,000 nits to 3,100 nits.
- Pixel 11 Pro maintains 6.3 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 2856
- The Pixel 11 Pro XL, on the other hand, has a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 1344 x 2992.
- Pixel 11 Pro Fold rumored to feature a 2076 x 2160 inner display and a 1080 x 2342 outer display
The Pixel 11 base model may get a new main camera, speculated to be a 50MP sensor, though the ultrawide and telephoto lenses may keep their current configurations. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL are rumored to get new main and telephoto cameras, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold may also receive a new main camera.
Battery capacity might disappoint some users, as current rumors suggest the Pixel 11 series will have lower capacity than the Pixel 10 series.
- The Pixel 11 is rumored to have a 4,840mAh battery, which is lower than the Pixel 10’s 4,970mAh.
- The Pixel 11 Pro is rumored to have a 4,707mAh battery, lower than the Pixel 10 Pro’s 4,870mAh.
- Pixel 11 Pro XL is rumored to have a 5,000mAh battery, lower than the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s 5,200mAh
- The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is rumored to have a 4,658mAh battery, a more noticeable drop compared to the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s 5,015mAh.
Regardless, the above specs are still just leaks. The actual details won’t be known until Google officially announces them.
